"better off just getting a new one"
Seems to be the answer
Cable is fixed and can’t be changed. This need for adapter
I have a wired remote for Nikon d300. The camera end of the cable is round with several pins in it. Newer cameras use mini or micro usb type recepticles. Is there a cable or connector that will adapt the Nikon end to a usb end to allow the remote to work?
Or are the remotes specific to the camera internally also ( ie won’t work on a different camera than Initially designed for).
Thanks
This is the gadget I referenced:

I don't know enough to recognize if there is a glaring omission in its functionality. Any on topic help appreciated
Thanks
I see no reason to buy stuff if it offers no advantage: thus my question.
Might get a Sony A 6400
I have used Nikon gear and have a 18-200 lens
Similar lens for Sony is 800.00
Nikon probably heavier
Adapters are available ( Neweer) for 150.00 or so
Comments on (in) advisability of adapter appreciated
Thanks
Can I assume nd and polarizing filters are available fir these lenses?
I don’t see bulb setting for long exposure photos on these cameras for longer than 30”. Can this be functionality be accomplished?

Anyone have comments of what makes the most sense in this series of cameras to replace Nikon SLR
I am
Non pro
Biggest print probably would be 8 x 10
No sports photography
Little to no interest in video
Tend to use a tripod
Tired of carrying Nikon slr with 18-200 zoom
Playing around with ND filters for long exposure ( not sure there is a bulb setting on these cameras)
Cost not overriding issue but prefer not to waste it
Thanks in advance
A lot of these are theoretical answers
Has anyone who has used these or similar cameras noted any artifacts, problems with IQ, issues that gave them buyer’s remorse?
And as an add on question, anything else about the cameras that were problematic or represent truly bad design?
Thanks

For those who own Sony 6xxx series cameras ( perhaps all Sony’s are the same), is the lossy compression of raw files of any significance image quality wise?
Thanks
I got an email yesterday. If paid in advance, the Adobe PS/LR combo for 1 year is 100 vs 120 per year. Not sure if this specific to me or a global offer
Can someone indicate which of these should RAW or suggest similars that do
Thanks
