My God, Sarge, I hope you're alright.
Sounds like you took a beating there, and understandable the situation.
Hang on dude, get well and hope to see you back in the field soon.

I started out with Netscape in 94. I switched to IE around 2000 when Netscape became unusable. In 2002, I went to Firefox. When Chrome came out I used both Firefox and Chrome. Some things were better accomplished in one than the other. I. Somewhere along the line I used Opera for about a year but would switch to Chrome or Firefox for some things. Now I primarily use Chrome but I have Opera and Firefox installed as well as Edge, of course. I switch between the three to get around the limit some newspapers have on the number of articles you can read in a month.

I have not used Internet Explorer since 2002, it's an insecure mess. All of the others are at least somewhat sandboxed. Chrome uses too much system resources. Google needs to address that. Opera is the easiest on system resources but has other issues. Edge may be easier on system resources than Opera, but I'm not sure. I believe Edge is close to being the most secure.

I almost forgot I also use Tor, for when I'm fooling around on the dark web.

Amen, started around '96, the rest pretty much a blueprint of myself except the Opera :) .. even the Tor part :) . Can't say much for Edge since I stay away from "it" :)

And that's how I became a Chrome user and having Firefox as Backup. Rarely falling back on IE and most likely forced to do so.

ain't that a bitch , ground connection can give such a headache.
I know the feeling ,since I am currently troubleshooting ground wiring problems on my car. Some weird shit going on, cause upon ignition the audio unit receives power, but no sound, pushing the brake pedal and I get sound back but with lots of noise and speakers going mad, sound goes off, comes back. So i've disconnected the unit until I have time to open up and do ground checks what I have not been able to check yet.

Wonderful details on this lizzard Jim Bob
I can barely wait to put my D750 to work when i'll be visiting my childhood place at my grand grand mothers place near the Carpathians Moutains in Romania. Lots of creatures and scenery to capture, and all your photos give me standard I have to achieve. Keep shooting Jim Bob, I enjoy your photos a lot :)

Yes, only the main card is displayed. Have the same camera with both slots populated.
Also I have found that the count is not accurate. I have a 32GB main card and a 16GB for overflow, and when empty, my counter says 500, and that is only on the main card. And seems to be a rough calculation, cause I had more than 500 pictures on that card on one session. It looks like it is estimating based on your picture quality settings, and doing an estimated calculation based on the highest file size possible of that pictures size setting. In order to fill up the card with just 500 pictures my files should be as big as 64MB each , and in my most cases they are between 23-30MB. As far as I know , our D750's do not produce 64MB Raw files.

Hi fourg1b2006
When you start a new post , and add photos you can see box to check for "store original" just to the right. That will upload the original files size and this way visitors have the option to "download" in order to see the full size picture.

I have a D7200 and a D500. What made you choose a D750 vs a D800e? Lightly used D800e is about the same price and no AA filter. I'm currently thinking of trading in my D7200 for a D800e, but my only FX glass is all longer, so I would have to also buy 2-3 lenses.

Pretty much the fact that I was looking into financing the camera through a down-payment method.
An 800e would have been niced, but I could only get second hand, and for that I would have to pay the seller in full straight away. I almost went for the D810, with down-payment , but I came to my senses, and went with the D750.

Hi ,
I've been through the dilemma DX vs FX last year.
Here is my own post : http://www.uglyhedgehog.com/t-385898-1.html

From my point of view, I was looking to improve picture quality and especially low light performance. At that point the D500 was on my list , but then I saw the price. It was just under the D750 which I've been drooling over for a while.

So , I am not going to bash your head with being a pro or not, what budget, and what type of photography. I am going to simply answer as it was to me when I was looking at DX vs FX.

For a longer time I've been comparing photos between DX and FX cameras with different lenses etc. And I came to the conclusion that I want to move up to FX. Why ? Well I could have gone for the DX and D500, but I am an all around hobby photographer. The best area for the D500 is sports and bif. After reading lots of info both here and searching the web, I've narrowed down to the fact that there is better Dynamic Range on the D750 and good performance on low light and high ISO. And my point was clear: I want to be on FX becuase better image quality and low light. On low light subject, I could not find a camera on DX level that comes close to the performance of the D750. The D500 does, but for the same amount of money, I chose to jump on FX. Having in mind the future, and maybe someday starting offering my services for pay, I am sure I made the good decision in getting my FX. I have not limited my photography to sport or bif, and rarely do so. The D500 surely makes it easier to get that awesome freeze, sharp and crisp, due to it's fast shutter and AF system, but I saw that you can get as good picture with a D750.

I have since, tried to follow this subject. Especially D500 vs other FX bodies. And I can only say I am very pleased. I really have not seen examples where D500 blown me away compared to my D750. With exception of some birds and action.

In conclusion, I would like to add , that I am really following this DX vs FX still. It seems to me like users are now falling for the fact that DX has now come to the point where they challenge FX. This is for me a misleading information, cause for now, there is only one body that can and it's D500. D500 is not the new standard for DX. It's just the top noch of DX. And I think future models will be as expensive on this level, and that should one take in consideration for it's own future expansion and plans.

Hope it helps
Cheers from Oslo

Hi CrazyDaddio
as this was one of my questions for not so long ago, I found this page which led me to understand more about. Also I do not think you would be able to achieve much star burst here since the lights are hidden and only the spread light is visibile. I do not exactly see how the lights are in your pictures since I do not have a download available. But from the looks of it , all the light sources are not in frame, just the light they spread. From what I've seen and tested myself, you must have the bulbs visible to create the effect. And Yes, the smaller the aperture, the better result.
Have a look at this link, I think you may find it very useful and informative.

Pretty sure that one of RobertJerl tips and the Lens Aberration Tip should solve your case.

First time I experienced this was on my Nikon D7100, the SD card was cheap slow one. That seems to be not your case since you've tested the card.
Second time , was when I upgraded to my D750. Played a lot with settings and I've activated a lot of the "Auto/Enabled/High" settings like Auto ISO, Noise Reduction, Active D-light, RAW+Jpeg, and it resulted in slow rate. Seems like enabling lot's of in camera process tasks will have an impact on burst shooting. That's how I learned turning them on when in need.

Good Luck

Very sad for your loss tbohon,
As a dog lover, I know how hard is to "just" lose one of the greatest loyal friend, and devoted family member. The good memories will always remain in our hearts , and the picture is a grate way to show that.
You can now ease your mind a little, he's up there will all our past dogs , barking to the moon, and never in any pain.

warm hugs from us here in Oslo
