lsupremo you sound as tho you have Adobe stock and are fearing a crash; will Adobe be smart enough to consider Affinity as a threat, Perhaps.... or will it Laugh like GM when the first small cars [VW] arrived at the USA Ports ? ! Such a comparison as you asked it truly a Masters Thesis level project. Many confuse LtRoom with photo edit programs... the focus is different as would be the difference in LtRoom and Affinity.
The difference discussed by an expert:

Ten reasons why if you have LtRoom you need Photoshop [or Affinity.]
https://laurashoe.com/2012/05/09/ten-reasons-why-some-lightroom-users-may-want-to-buy-photoshop/

Obviously, as stated, I do not have experience in Affinity, or Lightroom and do most of my work in PSPro with Topaz suite. More the art type of photo enhancement person... painted years ago... never as good as Baby Bush is, tho I would have made a better President! Certain no war to assure a second term that has lasted 16 years!!

There is a world of comparisons if you Google just what you asked, "Compare Affinity and Lightroom".. Affinity for Mac has been there quite a while but with the intro of [5 years in development Windows Affinity] both have been written with new code from scratch. No, Scratch is not a computer code... scratch = like new. There has been a recent free update which has added a lot... including Macros for automation. [PS calls them actions others call them scripts]

One big comparison is that Affinity can be purchased for $50 vs the ransomware loaned to you monthly for a fee by Adobe. $120+ per year.

I will add, Affinity has a paint program "Affinity Designer" $50 program which fits in the Affinity family and has a $40 thick hard cover "workbook"! Also Affinity has just added Affinity for iPads which will addict the young iPhone/pad photographers. Young will not spend $ for Adobe... and will say "My Grandpa use Adobe Stuff, old fashion stuff." Nor will many spend big $ for DSLR when all they want fits in their back pocket.

Thank you Bob for your example. Just the type of interaction UHH should have and will help us all learn.

I am a Nikon shooter who is interested in feedback on those of you who use either the Newer Tamron 150-600 G2 lens or the Newer Sigma 150-600 Sport lens. I am familiar with the Nikon 200-400, but was hoping to get experienced input with regards to either the Tamron and the Sigma. Read on line reviews already, thank you, but need help from hoggers, PARTICULARLY WITH FOCUSING ON FAST MOVING BIRDS. Thanks

These were taken handheld with the D810, 150-600 Sigma Sport with the Sigma TC-1401 teleconverter.

Photo Affinity does look intriguing. There are also the Perfect Effects programs by On1 Software; the free version can be downloaded here: http://perfect-effects.en.softonic.com/download

I already have On Photo 10, another very good software program.

There is no debate. If you want the best for the money it's Affinity. As good as PS, cheap, and attractive interface. Also, I think free updates.

Also, their customer support is excellent. You receive a quick response on any technical questions. Free updates on your current version (which is normal), and for $50, it's a steal.
I used PS Elements, and IMHO, Affinity Photo is way better, and cheaper.

First I took it into DxO ViewPoint 3 to straighten the image. Then used Affinity Photo to replace the sky, and do some further adjustments.

How do I save my pictures to get the highest resolution for printing on aluminum? Being new to photography I would like to start printing large portraits. I am not sure what would be an acceptable mb for a 24x36 print, and how to save them after downloading the raw image in Lightroom.

Thank you for your input.

Chris

From Bay Photo's website. Their metal prints are outstanding!

Is it really worth it to pay the monthly charges and can i load it on more than one iMac or PC? Thanks in advance appreciate your advice you pro's i respect you. 👍 😀

I would just get LR6 and a program like Affinity Photo, both for less than $200. Affinity Photo, ($50), gives free updates to the current version and is very similar to Photoshop.

there is no trial version anymore. You pay for it, download it, and if not happy, then you get your money back, after removing it of course.

I just downloaded a 10 day trial version a couple of days ago, and purchase it yesterday. For $50 it's a bargain.

If you don't want to go the subscription route, there's a simple solution. Get a standalone copy of LR6 and go with Affinity Photo.

Affinity Photo for $50 is a bargain and all updates are free.

For general printing I have 2 laser printers for the job. A B&W one for printing black text which I use the most. A color one for printing something that needs color but need not be accurate. For example charts, graphs, a brochure etc..
I think the Pro100 would be a good printer for photo only the problem is if I use it only for photo I would be using it very infrequently which would cause the head clog. So really I have been thinking about a photo printer but I don't have one.

My Pro-100 has been sitting idle for at least 6 months. I just did a photo shoot for my daughter-in law's accounting firm, and printed out a group photo with no problems. However, I never shut it off, just stays in stand-by mode.
