Two shots of the State Capitol and Capitol Mall lawn -- one from July 2015 when the drought was at its worse and the Governor wouldn't allow watering, and the second from yesterday, after the most recent deluge of this very wet water year.

I spent a good part of Wednesday on top of the Red Bluff Diversion Dam watching the US Fish and Wildlife Service repair some rotary screw traps that had to be taken down because of high flows. But I caught the awesome light at sunset from below to capture this.

I still can't find anything that matches Aperture's organizing capabilities to fit my preferences, so I'm still using. Some quirky things bug me, but it still works great, and the best plug-ins, MacPhun, Affinity, Luminar and ON1, work seamlessly. Applie stopped officially supporting more than two years ago, by the way . . .

I still use Aperture as my main organizer, but also use plug-ins like Affinty Pro, the MacPhun suite and ON1. Luminar does some cool things, but I'm just starting to play with it. if you use Aperture, Luminar seems to work very well with it.

that's a hard one because it depends on the situation and I like every lens I own or I would sell it. But the best lens I've used (rented it four times) is the 300mm 2.8 II. Just incredibly sharp with extender too. This was from last Sunday's 49ers-Jets game at Levi's Stadium, shot at 600mm with the 2x extender on the 300.

I've had mine for about a year and it's fun to bring out every now and then. I shot this with it at a Sacramento Kings game last February and I was happy with the low light results.

While Canon has just upgraded this lens, I found this version to be an excellent choice for just about anything, and it's a solid upgrade from the 75-300 many receive in Canon package deals (I did own both). Both lens caps are included plus lens hood. I included a couple of examples shot with an SLR1 in 2014 to give you an idea of its capabilities. Lens is in overall great condition with no operating problems.

Had to drive to Santa Barbara for a conference last Monday and I stopped in at the Pismo Beach Pier for an hour just before sunset and captured a few images in the cool light.
