Why even bother with "ugly" buy something; good and be done with it. Save your money until you can afford it.
First, that is judgmental. You don’t know me. Next, it’s none of your business how I spend my money. And then, I did “buy something good.” $51.15 with free shipping and it looks and performs as it should. Where could I do better? How I save and spend my money is my business. I promise, traderjohn I will not tell you how to save and spend your money if you promise to not tell me how to save and spend my money.
I really, really hesitated to buy an UGLY camera from them, but I thought I would take a chance, knowing their excellent reputation. It was anything but ugly. I would classify it as very good. It is a 35mm film camera, a Minolta XD11, a favorite of mine. Cosmetically it is excellent—no dents, not many scratches, and very clean. The finder, film compartment and mirror box are clean. The seals are good, the shutter operates smoothly, and it works in all modes. What a beautiful, quiet shutter. This week I’m taking it to the beach with a roll of b&w film. I can hardly wait. And, I’m going to look at some more of their UGLY cameras. Thank you KEH.
66 years and that’s just a good start.
I can’t believe it. I found a very nice Minolta Autocord. What was I thinking! It’s awful to use.
We were married in 1956. Our first LP was Les Elgart. Our second Frank Sinatra. Both the records and album covers hang on our hall wall. Hundreds of others are long gone. So many ways to listen to good music—including Les and Frank.
Gapapentin, by prescription, works for me—somewhat. Cannabis is recommended by some. A 12 year old single malt scotch—never mind.
Hodagman? Rhinelander, WI?
Me and my OM4 are there baby!
I’d love a Rollei but no camera stores for hundreds of miles.
I’m finishing the first of two weeks on a beautifully beach in Florida’s panhandle. To make my leisure time easier, I only brought my DSLR and three lenses. A mistake. So much of what I see I want to shoot with my Olympus OM-2n or better yet, medium format. And, in black and white. Alas, I have no medium format camera. In my youth, I used a Minolta Autocord. I loved it and have hundreds of transparencies and countless negatives. I want it again. Not the Minolta necessarily, but a medium format film camera. My budget is about $500 and I don’t feel the need to have interchangeable lenses. Suggestions please! And thank you.
What is the “driving force” that makes me buy a film Minolta Maxxum 9 or an Olympus E 30 dslr? Because they are what I want. I love using them. I just checked. Yup, I have pictures taken with them. How could that happen when they aren’t the latest technology?
An easy solution. Never vote for reelection of anyone.
Your music recommendations always make my day.
Under protest, we went with our granddaughter and family. IMAX. All we could imagine was loud zooming jets. Were we wrong. It was a great movie. The best we have seen in a long time. And yes, there were zooming jets.
Thanks. I expected my first reply to come from chg_canon. And, I expected it to be a straight answer. Thanks again.
