All are very professional and artistic looking. I especially like the fourth photo. Did you toss sand into the beam of light to make it so prominent?

Thanks for the complement....no I didn't throw the sand...our guide did. You'd never know from the px...but there were probably 15-20 photogrphers all crowded into two spots...each about the size of a parking space with limited head room. We had 90 seconds to set up...tripod wars insued...3-5 minutes for photos...then we had to clear out so the next group could set up. An amazing place....even with the crowds.

It's a great shot, almost looks like the deer is trying to hide herself against the door. I would increase the vibrance, increase the blacks ever so slightly and bring up the clarity. I don't think it needs any cropping. Good work.

A possibility. But my wife was holding the lens cap.
As a new person, I don't see the actual pictures.
Perhaps that is why the images appear to have been taken with
the lens cap on.
Seriously, what do I do to see the images when someone replies
to a post?

Dude.....no px's

thanks to all of you, just ordered understanding exposure, photography for dummies, watching videos on youtube, and have went through half of the manual along with my camera. all of you have been extremely helpful. thank you so much for the assistance, and incouragement

Samantha,
Shortly after buying my first DSL, I took a photography workshop in Maine. The photographer was highly recommended...and I learned how to shoot in the manuel mode, with confidence by the time the workshop was over. I was able to leave the workshop with some amazing photos. We were up at 4am for sunrise, had an early afternood processing lecture...hands on, then out to shoot in sunset light each evening. It was the best money I ever spent. That being said, I've been on other workshops that couldn't hold a candle to the first experience. If you go a route similar to mine...be sure to talk to others who've taken the workshop. If you'd like you can PM me for info on the workshop I did. He has one coming up in April/May in Utah. I plan on going with my new camera.

I've done 2 photography workshops so far...one was fantastic...in the 5 days I learned how to shoot in manuel mode....the second was so far under par it was a crime....had it not been for the other participants (and the Arizona/Utah landscape) in the workshop, the whole event would have been a complete wash. I'm all in favor of participating in an event..LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION.....and a few old timers....count me in!

Lose the beer...it makes the photo look like a Coors ad. Otherwise good work.

C/C section with data sounds really good to me. Posters could also ask if they want comments/help with composition as opposed to techique....
Thank you admin......while you're at it....can we have a section for bugs on flowers?

oh please no more pictures of bugs on flowers...
