I dont know much about Nikons, since I have always used a Minoltya and than the Sony Line of dslr's
But, I hear that many digital camera s wqill burn out a sensor if you use the film camera flash on a digital.
That is because the digital flashes use a lower current than the film flash.
I know this to be tru with my Sony camera.
I have 2 high speed flasher foor my Minolta and was warned. So to be safe i bought 2 flashes that are compatible with my Sony.
Better safe than have a repair

IMHO.

Oregonlady, if you are familiar with piccturee it. try Photo Impact pro, I have both programs and find photo impact pro to be about the same with ease of use or even easier than pitcure it. It also have frames that you want and many dif borders. It is a fun program and cost about the same as Microsoft pictur it. Check the box to be sure that it has the functions that you want, if it does. you will not have to learn a new program again because it wotks very much like pictur it

I have been a member since sept. and I have not been very active. You may call me a lurker. I generally watch the post and if someone has answered the question. I dont comment. I know that many have a lot of experiance and I have learned from them also. I for one do not mind answering questions that have already been answered in past posts. I enjoy passing my knowledg to others that need it.
If we are to be teachers/instructors tonew comers, I think that reduncey in the forum will happen. So I do believe that we should be p[atient to new comers whether they are passing through or new members.

MHO :-)

I use pse8 and open a pic, create a new layer. Than copy the original pic into the new layer. Than use the brush to white out the background and merge the layer.
This is my sample.

Dont stop doing what you do PM57 :-)
I feel that if you post a photo to a forum that is geared to Critiqueing, than you will obviously get a lot of suggestions. But, words alone cannot do what a little editing along with your critique can do.

SB721, I have been to a forum which i left because the people there do not critique. They run you into the ground.
A critique in my opinion is some sort of constructive critism, not trashing, If you see a problem, dont critique without some sort of solution <Right or wrong>. I dont think bieng thick skinned is required when someone critiques your image, but, it does help sometime <G>
That is how we all learn. I have been photographing since I was 15 and is still learning. I do not believe that I am a professional at this game, I just love it.
So in the future , if you see my posts with photo, please feel free to be honest and critique away and edit . I need that so that i may see what you mean.

My 2 cents :-)

I understand mudshark, I for one was in nam 4 years worth.
I still have memories that haunt me.
Though I advocate the CC Permit for people, believe me,I Hopt that they never have to use it. It is a Life changing experiance, mostly not good. How-ever I believe better you than me in a troubled situation.
My own opinion.
