I am not a Constitutional scholar. I've read lots of opinions about the 2nd amendment from both sides, including the Supreme Court decision. The following article is a take on this that I had never thought of. Is there anyone out there that can refute what the author is saying, from a constitutional point of view? A very compelling article, if what he says can stand up to legal challenges.

Hillsdale College has a course on the Constitution that also has other readings so you can understand what the framers of the Constitution meant when they wrote it. Men of the times were expected to carry guns.
Check it out.

Wasn't it last Christmas that Target refused to let the Salvation Army
ring their bells in front of their stores?

Dick Forrey of the Veterans Association wrote.

Recently we asked the local TARGET store to be a proud
sponsor of the Veterans Memorial Wall during our
spring recognition event.

We received the following reply
from the local TARGET management:

Veterans do not meet our
area of giving. We only donate to the arts, social action
groups, gay & lesbian causes, and education.'

So I'm thinking, if the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall and
veterans in general, do not meet their donation criteria,
then something is really wrong at this TARGET store.

We were not asking for thousands of dollars, not even hundreds, just
a small sponsorship for a memorial remembrance.

As a follow-up, I, E-mailed the TARGET U.S. Corporate
Headquarters and their response was the same...

That's their national policy!!!

Then I looked into the company further..

They will not allow
the Marines to collect for 'Toys for Tots' at any of their
stores. And during the recent Iraq deployment, they would
not allow families of employees who were called up for
active duty to continue their insurance coverage while
they were on military service.

Then as I dig further,
TARGET
is a French-owned corporation.

Now, I'm thinking again..

If TARGET cannot support American (or Canadian) Veterans, then why
should my family and I support their
stores by spending our hard earned American or Canadian dollars in
their stores???

And, have their profits sent to France.

Without the American and Canadian
Vets, where would France be today?

'They, most likely would be speaking German and trading in Deutsch Marks'

Sincerely,
Dick Forrey
Veterans Helping Veterans

Please send this on to everyone you know to let Target know
we don't need them either !

We’re all in a position to reduce sales to these stores as soon as this
get around....

SO THERE IS POWER IN THE PEN AND THE COMPUTER EMAILS!!

I usually agree with you: Long Email + No Link = False,
but this time it is True http://www.snopes.com/inboxer/charity/target.asp

That's pretty selective. True, they don't allow Salvation Army bell ringers. But it is untrue that Target doesn't contribute to veteran causes, untrue that Target is French owned, untrue that Target doesn't contribute to Toys for Tots, untrue that Target doesn't allow reservists to continue their health insurance.

Lots of rumors wouldn't be on emails if people would just check them out first. - Just check and you won't be one of the people spreading RUMORS.

I have found PhotoScape to be user friendly and it puts the original in a sub folder so that anything you do to your pictures is done on a copy.

I wonder what things went on in the Chrysler bailout that we aren't aware of.
Lots of creditors who had legit claims were bypassed and the unions were graced with funding when they weren't entitled to it.

I think your photos are terrific, especially #!. The third is a little soft. Those birds aren't ducks, they're Canadian geese. I know, I know, you don't know birds just how to take pictures. Post some more. You do terrific work

If you do a web search for the Canadian Geese, you will find that none are listed - the results you get will be Canada Geese. Many people don't know the correct name for them.

Canada geese, Canadian geese, they all go in the same pot. I grew up In North Dakota and we used to go duck hunting, before we went to school and later before we went to work. I started when I was five, just watched and then later took my BB gun. All the time we called them Canadian geese. So I did what you said to do and googled Canadian geese, first one up said 'Canadian Geese'. I said, 'Ha, gotcha.' I opened it and miraculously it changed to 'Canada Geese.' So, you are right and I am wrong. I learned something new today on a subject that I thought I was pretty knowledge able. Thanks.
Can we agree that the pictures are pretty good, a little soft, but pretty good?

I can agree with you on that. Most outdoor picture situations don't wait for you to get everything the way you want it before you take the picture. You just catch what you can and hope for good results.

I want to purchase a Nikon D7000 I went to this website:

http://priceclicks.com/product/view/636#jump

I only need the D7000 body. The three lowest prices interest me of course, but, I don't know how to "think" about buying from either of these three.

What would you do? Do you have experience with these stores? What kind of questions or actions would you take to feel comfortable purchasing?

Thank You, Ceil

CHECK THEM OUT BEFORE YOU EVEN THINK OF BUYING!
Use the BBB.org website - they do rate from A+ to F and you can see the reasons for the rating. This has always worked for me.

I have been researching bridge cameras and decided for my needs the Panasonic FZ200 would suit the bill.

In shopping price I found that while B&H and Andorama were advertising $599 42nd Street photo is advertising it on sale for $499 (their regular price is $549). It is listed as new with a USA warrantee.

It sounds too good to be true :hunf: ,
but it also sounds too good to pass up  .

Does anyone have personal experience with them good or bad? :|

You might check the BBB rating - Everything I saw rated them F.

Thanks.
Not bad pictures considering they were taken through the patio door and 50 feet away - then cropped in a Canon SX40 HS bridge camera.

Would you care to state the name of that battery and, if possible, where specifically you found it? I'm in the market for an aftermarket spare for my new SX40, so long as using it won't destroy my camera. I don't want to pay the $59 Canon price that my local Best Buy outlet tells me it will cost me if I order it from them, if I can avoid doing so. Thanks.

I bought 2 for my SX40 and am very happy with them. I have charged them on my canon charger and also charged the canon battery on the one that they sent free with my order.

Got these pictures in June and August. The hummingbird pictures were taken with my Canon SX40 HS from about 50 feet away - full zoom - then cropped.

My Canon EOS1100D uses a LP-E10 battery. I have been looking for a spare online and have noticed prices from $75 to $8. I have purchased cheap after market batteries for my cell phones that were rated better than the OEM. Anyone know of a good place to buy a replacement LP-E10 battery?

You might check here. I got two batteries for my SX 40 HS and they are 1200 ma verses Canon 900 ma and do last longer.
