Sounds like an awesome but scary experience Larry. Your images are outstanding
It got a bit scary when the flames flared and roared (you could feel the wind from the flames) and when the dense clouds of black smoke engulfed you. But is was awesome. Best part is I have the images to relive the adventure.
Thanks for looking.

That must have been an awesome experience. Iām just glad it was a controlled burn. I remember several years ago when Volusia county was on fire. You did a great job of documenting this event!
Came back with close to 50 usable images. I've got fine full documentary going from clear skies to a bunch of shared gatorade drinks back at the station. Tis was something I won't soon forget--if ever.

Awesome, but the last is a real find š„š„š„š„š„
How true. That little bit of life really struck me. Somehow after all the destruction that just seems very precious.
Thanks. It did get the adrenaline flowing.

Very nice set. Fire is important to healthy forests. By periodically burning off under growth and accumulated dead materials it keeps fire out of the crowns of the forest trees.
Correct. I knew this but the firefighters really gave me an education.

Wow! What a great experience.
Thanks. This is something I dreamed of doing, but never have had the chance-- This was quite an adventure. I was covered with ash, and smelled life the fire itself. But i really enjoyed it. The Firefighters really were so pleased when I drove back the next day (75 miles) to give them the photos.
On Thursday I was given the opportunity to follow along with a team of firefighters at the Spirit of the Wild Preserve in south Florida with they managed a burn. I was allowed to photograph the event. While this does not compare to the wildfires of California last summer. I was allowed to experience a fire from up close. My heartfelt thanks to the firefighters who allowed and helped me as I tagged along.
I experienced the heat of a marching wall of flame, witnessed clouds of smoke that blocked out the sun (and made photographs impossible) saw the devastation while standing on earth so hot it nearly melted thesoles of my shoes and finally saw signs of renewed life.
Thanks for looking
