Recently on an early morning birding expedition I came across this anhinga perched on a scag catching a few morning rays. The manner in which the scene presented itself told me that if I exposed solely for the highlights I could produce a suitable Low Key image. Below is the result.
Captured with a Nikon D850, 200-400 f4 lens

Thanks Mike. I've developed a collection of Low Key bird shots, the drama created by the black really sets a theme.

It is all about seeing the scene are reading the light. This was taken about 8 a.m.
