Oh I disregarded the reference to F-Stop range. When shooting HDRs different F-stops during the exposure burst is not recommended. It should remain constant throughout the burst while the auto bracketing EV feature does it's work. For landscape using the smallest possible aperture is best for my purposes....keeps the detail sharp throughout... But sometimes the longer exposures throw the camera into noise suppression and slows down the whole process and disrupts the rhythm of camera action. At least that is how it is for me. Real estate is a bit different as every room seems to require a different f-stop. Some times 5.6 other times 2.8 and still others at F-22. The point is is to allow the aperture to remain constant and allow the auto exposure bracketing feature of the camera do its work. It is possible to do the same thing manually but very time consuming and sometimes the amount of exposures are forgotten..usually a pre-senior moment on my part...so "power steering" and "power brakes" work best for me. Hope that helps.

I like the dog pics too..there are more from that shoot if you would like to see them. In regards to the HDRs I use a Nikon d300 which will shoot a burst of 9 pics in a row in auto exposure bracketing. Every other exposure is used, meaning 1,3,5,7,9... 5 exposures to get maximum ev spread between each. Photomatix has an option which allows every other exposure to be chosen precisely for this reason. Some times if the dynamic range is more shallow 7 exposures are used but usually all seven are processed. I like 9 because if I need to discard one of them it wont hurt the out come. There more to it but I think you get the idea. Thanks for your comments. R

Wow...thank you...coming from a fellow shooter that means a lot. Yes I do this professionally but always looking to improve the skill level. My back ground is 30 years in the offset printing industry where there is very little room for error. I love tweaking the canvas. Thanks again for your comments.

By making the black blacker more contrast was added to the photo. An overall contrast adjustment saturated all colors and gave it an HDRish look so opted to just boost the black. Looks better. Thanks for the comment.

Slight Black adjustment (20%) increase using "Selective Color Adjustment" tool in Cs3

well thanks....I guess with the positive feedback I have been getting I may not need to seek additional help. Thank you so much...

No...here is a snap shot of the work flow. I allow Photomatix to save to the .tiff format default. The default .tiff is all I want with its default adjustments in tact. Then process in in Cs3. "Auto Levels" is the first adjustment...maybe "auto color" sometimes desaturate individual colors if ness....brighten and then sharpen. I don't do any post in Photomatix. Obviously its very important to maintain a realistic appearance... so over processing is a temptation but the rule I use is "moderation". Sometimes the "Clarity" adjustment in "Topaz" works very well then ease it down some if it looks too HDRish. The difficulty with HDRs is consistency of wall and carpet colors from pic to pic. I still have a lot to learn but it is very enjoyable...more screen time than I like some times but the reward is worth it.

Well...thanks again. I love real estate photography...but can be very challenging when the dwelling is less than photogenic. This particular listing was a photographers dream.

The living room photo has a blue cast in the windows that was removed in PS before publishing...I forgot to do that before posting here.

No...no flash...I have seen photos that seem to be sharper and brighter on the web over the past few years and have always wondered if flash has some how been introduced to the process. Thanks for the compliment.

I am wondering if there is anyone out there who has mastered a technique of mixing flash with the HDR exposure process for real estate photos or has managed to to create bright enough HDR real estate photos using Photomatix without the assistance of a flash. My real estate photos are sell able but I feel I can do better. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. A few samples provided.
