I agree that HDR made a big difference in your photos and that it was definitely worth doing. I have seen some HDR photos on this forum that looked very "fake". Your's show that it can be used for enhancement and correction without going to the extreme. Very nicely done.

I use to have my husband watch my things when I took pictures but since he passed away 8 years ago I've had to be more mindful of my equipment. There is a walking/biking trail where I like to take pictures but I am wary of going alone. I get so into what I'm doing I don't pay attention to who is around. The last couple of times I went I took my Golden Retriever, Murphy. Believe me, no one is intimidated by "The Murph" but he is sooooo friendly and thinks everyone exists to give him attention so he will head towards an approaching person to introduce himself. What I do is tie his leash to my belt so if he moves that tug pulls my focus back to what's going on around me. Insurance or not if someone is coming to do harm I'll gladly swing the D7000 or the camera bag and contents to protect myself and Murphy.

A+for the student. A+ for the photography instructor. A million A+'s for the mentor who took the time to share and care. No matter what happens to him in the future he will always remember you and treasure those shared moments. Bless you!!!

I'm not an expert but I'll tell you what I see....she is nervous and isn't sure what to do, she's stiff; her smile is forced...like shes saying "cheese". It's not natural.I would suggest telling her something along the line that you need o adjust the camera and you just need to snap a few to make your adjustments then just have a casual conversation with some things that will make her smile and laugh as you are snapping away. After you get some good shots tell her your ready and see if this a) relaxes her for a few more shots or b) if she stiffens up again you, hopefully, have some good shots.

Worth a try.

I really like the second one with those churning waves. I can almost feel that storm. Very well done on both

Annoying, isn't it?

I've had this pop-up also and I'm about ready to punch him myself if I see it again.

Anyway, I have an iPad and just went poking around in settings,Safari (the browser) and there is a switch to block pop-ups. Mine was set to off and I have now switched it on. Lets see if this does the trick.

livmypets, the show was in Durham N.C. Its called the Bull City Rumble and they have it every Labor Day Weekend. If you want to see more about it and some more pictures you can look it up on the computer, just put in Bull City Rumble Durham N.C.

I had to work this weekend so I wouldn't have gotten to go but I'll put it on the calendar for next year and keep my fingers crossed. Thanks for the info.
