Have you also considered the 7D Mk II? They are selling new for almost ridiculous prices now: https://www.amazon.com/Canon-Mark-Digital-Camera-Body/dp/B00NEWZDRG

This is a professional grade, magnesium alloy framed camera, with an excellent 65 x-point AF & AE system, real 10 frames per second speed (very useful for Birds in Flight), doubled up processors, 2 Cards for backup security, and a host of other features packed in. Also, if you want to add quality glass later, this body will be able to take advantage of it; it’s a very good performing body with Canon L series lenses.

Just a suggestion; this is a very good value, top of the range APSC 1.6X Crop Sensor Body, for significantly less now than a 6D Mk II?

The 6D Mark II has a more advanced processor than the 7DII, More megapixels (26 vs. 20), and is full frame with improved low light capabilities. Unless the OP is needing a fast frame rate for sports or birds in flight, the 6D Mark II is a better choice.

I have read numerous reviews of both the Z6 and Z7 as well as side by side comparisons. My D750 is becoming too heavy for me. I am leaning towards the Z6 - I don't need the higher # of pixels, better high ISO performance etc. and suited to the things I shoot. Really struggling with giving up the 750 and going mirrorless. Any experiences and advice pro/con? Thanks in advance.

My son's friend recently shot his small backyard wedding with her new Z6. She is quite happy with the camera, and the wedding images are fantastic. The photographer's previous camera was a D800. The weight difference is significant, and she is able to use her lenses with the adapter.

Well darn it. It's been a great little camera. I have taken hundreds of thousands of photos with it over the the past 6 years. She will be missed. I just purchased the Canon SX70 to replace my SX50. Hope it will be just as good.
Thank you 😊

Sounds like you got a lot of life out of your SX50. Mine has been fantastic and still going strong, but I have only used it for probably 20,000+/- shots. It is mostly just used as my travel camera now when I want to travel light. Please let us know what you think about your new SX70 once you've had sufficient time to check it out.

We also learn by asking those with more experience for advice. You know, like on a photography forum. Say UHH.

Perhaps if you do not feel qualified to provide a helpful answer, you should just pass.

Opinions on micro cards that have an adapter??

I have heard several stories of malfunction issues with micro cards and adapters. (Including some members here on UHH who have encountered problems). It seems the problem is usually related to the connection between the micro card and the adapter. I'm sure there are those who have never had an issue with them, but why take the chance? Personally, I've chosen to steer clear of them.

Angela,
I see from your post on another thread you have made a choice. The SL2 will serve you well for several years and leave you positioned to upgrade later.
Good luck.

For a very capable lightweight camera, I would suggest looking at the Canon SL2 or SL3. These are the smallest and lightest DSLR cameras on the market. They also come packed with very good features. They are available within your price range with a kit lens. Including a great processor and a solid autofocus system. Another option for lightweight would be mirrorless. You might consider the Fuji X-T20 or X-T30. (The X-T30 might be pushing your price range up a bit). The Sony A6000 or A6300 would be another great mirrorless choice. I agree with those who have suggested going to a camera store and handling the various models, if this is possible. If you don't have a camera store nearby, consider going to Best Buy.

Thanks. Can you still buy a NEW 8+?

I believe so, but you can check with your carrier, amazon, or Best Buy to see what is available new.

Even though the iPhone 7 is supported now and for a while to come, that may change in the not so distant future. (Apple is well known for this). I would recommend going with at least an iPhone 8+ or the iphone XR. They both feature excellent cameras. I have the XR and am very happy with it. The pictures are very good. It is the camera I always have with me. I have a DSLR, and a bridge camera for travel, but the phone comes in handy when I don't have one of those cameras with me.
