LOL I never said anything about my photo's being non-edited or not and this is not about my photo's being better than anyone elses. Not sure where you get the idea that I even use an editing program, which I don't use anyway, even though I have Lightroom 5 still in it's unopened box. Like I said earlier, I'm not opposed to PP at all. My reasoning for posting this "quote" is to start some conversations about when is it still Photography and when does it become a computerized Graphic design? Regarless of how it's done, both can be visually appealing to many including me. If some believe you just can't get it all right in camera, then why do these same individuals purchase such expensive cameras only to OVER proccess them? Now let me be clear, I am NOT talking about commercialized Pro Photographers who sometimes need to have them over PP for commercial use.

Open up your Lightroom 5 and let it out. It won't bite you!

Basically 'required' in those days, but with the advances in technology, his type of work is mostly able to be done in camera, so that old, tired analogy really doesn't hold water anymore!!

So, if his type of work is mostly able to be done in camera, then the shot is being processed by the program in the camera, that is setting the sharpness, saturation, white balance etc. Then tell me how "you" are getting it right in the camera?. After you take the shot (I assume you are shooting jpeg) the camera processes the shot even to the extent of discarding information the camera feels is not necessary. It would appear that "your " involvement in the shot is very little. Like it or not your shot has been post processed in the camera and contrary to the belief of a lot of people on this forum "you" did not get it right in the camera, the camera got it right for "you". When you are post processing you are actually choosing what "you" need to do to the specific shot to make the best possible photograph you can get, and is not that the object of the exercise?.

[quote=MT Shooter]A "Photographer" gets it right in-camera, an "Editor" tries to make it right in Photoshop

Ya, right! I,ve never heard Ansell Adams referred to as an
" editor". Try again!

DSLR fanboys might look down on you unless you pull out an Oly EM-1 with some top shelf glass and show them outstanding image quality right out of the camera in any kind of weather. They'll sort of slink away, mumbling something about Photoshop or other post-processing while you're back shooting and making great photos! And they're wondering how to keep their gear dry and in position for the next shot, whereas you've already GOT the next shot.

Whats with this DSLR fanboys crap? Are we 12 years old?

To me its simple, who cares! I have my DSLR and you have yours and we will continue to take reasonably good photos until we shuffle off into the mystic.

On Oct 27th you post a thread entitled 'Another P510 Afternoon.' On the thread are photos of pelicans in flight, a blue dragonfly and a cruise ship. You stated that you like shooting with your 510 every once in a while because it wasn't as heavy as your D7000. The photos of the pelicans were sharp and clear, hardly any noise at all, if any. I wrote the settings down that you said you had the camera on and have been trying since to replicate those photos with zero success. Today I have a little time to myself and I rechecked those photo's exif; lo and behold they weren't shot with a 510 at all but a D7000!
Now for me everything that you have said is in question, things like do you really have a P510 and a Canon SX59 and 27 medals. I thought you were a better man then this.

Perhaps he got the cameras mixed up. But you realize that almost everybody fought in Viet Nam, and almost everybody was at Woodstock!

One thing it could mean is that Canon has more money to spend on advertising because they sell more cameras. What do you think it means?
