Great shots! That guy on a hook would take a big large mouth bass.

Just saying...

Well done shots. Love 'em all. Gotta admire the little guy's ability to express himself.

These are great little birds, and very nice captures of positions not normally seen. I posted a similiar one in another thread. The first time we really took note of these little guys was several years ago - we were feeding the critters sunflower seeds on a log slab. This little fellow was sitting on the edge of the slab picking out what he wanted when a pine squirrel jumped up on the slab. The nuthatch immediately lifted both wings, just like Count Dracula in the old movies. From that moment on he became "The Count" to us. It was probably quite a while after that before we learned the difference in the White-breasted, Red-breasted, and Pigmy Nuthatches. They are all great fun to watch.

Just to update my initial impressions I posted on a similar thread the following...

My impressions have changed on this little camera. I'm learning, and having fun with it.

I bought the A6000 ... getting really disenchanted ...love the little camera ...was expecting a ton better photos with this A6000. It's just not happening yet. I'm blaming some (lots?) of it on me......frustrated, disillusioned, and losing my taste... got it at B&H and I'm still within the 30 day period...

So, just an update on my particular setup. I did receive an RMA from B&H to return the camera and lenses. BUT, at the last moment I decided it wasn't the equipment but was me, so I did not return anything. Really appreciated B&H's policy and attitude though.

I've quit trying BIF at the moment. That automatically gave me a much higher percentage of decent shots. And, I think I'm beginning to learn this little camera. I love it! I have since added a couple of lenses I got off eBay ($20 for a Sears/Pentax 135mm Macro in mint condition plus another $9 for adapter, and a 50mm Pentax prime for $26 and I got a second adapter to keep the changes down). Also have a Sigma 70-300 APO lens coming ($75), along with a LA-EA2 Sony adapter ($161). I'm looking forward to having some fun shooting little critters in Colorado in the next few weeks.

Here's a few pics to update. In looking through my stuff so far I see that I need to learn what this little camera needs in the way of proper exposure. I get a lot of shots that are over exposed. I'll learn.

That last mockingbird does have a beak problem. There are some species of birds that naturally have a bill similar to this but not mockingbirds. This guy either had a real problem that deformed his bill or maybe he hatched that way. Regardless, it's bound to hinder feeding somewhat for him. Since insects are their main diet I don't see the bill being as much a problem as it would if he was a seed eater though.

Excellent shots.

I was out yesterday using my A6000 along with the LA-EA4 adapter and the Tamron 150-600mm in a Sony A-mount. Focusing seemed every bit as fast as it is using my Sony A99. The image in the view finder was just as bright also. I saw no down side.

Good to hear this. I was wondering if you were still pleased with this setup. I finally got the A6000, but it'll be awhile before a long lens comes into the picture. Looking for good deal on LA-EA2/4 now.

Are you talking about finding the thing in Bob Smith's original post or about the "mysterious artifact" in SpeedyWilson's post?

And there is also this mysterious artifact:

I looked for this "mysterious artifact" and couldn't find hide nor hair of it. Looking again at the YouTube video, the artifact must have been hundreds of miles long judging from its size as the guy zooms in (well, since I don't know how wide Greenland is at that point I'm prolly off a bunch, but the thing is huge). I don't think I could have missed that in my scan so I guess Goggle has either shoveled snow over it or it was bogus.
