I use flash, a lot. It was nice and there were birds at the feeder. Had a few minutes before I had to leave so... grab the camera and tried a little experiment. Almost mid day the worst time to shoot.
I really like flash and think it does a wonderful job, even mid day. Will probably not make a habit of no flash but might try it again. Then again I have been known to pack in a couple 600ws strobes with really light stands and head down the trail to a water fall. These new strobes with the small Lithium batteries are a dream come true.
PS, these are heavily cropped.

Maybe I might try uninstalling Adobe CC and reload? Might be worth a try.

I use a Canon camera and am running Windows 10 as well. I had some problem when CC first updated. Thing work somewhat work but then freeze. I did a reinstall and everything seems to work fine now. Sometimes a packet or two doesn't go through.

I use a Benq SW2700PT. The SW270C is the next monitor up in the Benq lineup of photographic monitors from the SW2700PT. I recommend Benq monitors and I am happy with mine.

I also use the X-Rite i1 Display Pro and the Palette Master Elements software that Kubota King mentioned in his reply. One thing I want to add is to make sure you use the Palette Master software to calibrate the monitor, not the software the comes with the X-Rite i1 Display Pro.
Good luck with your new monitor. I am sure you will like it.

Thanks. Really looking forward to it getting here.I figure there will be learning curve. I have had my present monitor for several years so I know there have bee some big improvement. I have a Spyder5 that I have been using for calibration so hoping that will work. Got a Question? The website says it works but in real world terms does it work as well?

Thanks for the heads up. Havn't used BenQ before but have been hearing good things.

My present monitor has been acting up so I thought it was time to "bite the bullet" so to speak. It is pretty old and hasn't been made for a few years now, so either would have been a big step up. Ordered a BenQ SW270C from B&H. Will be here by the weekend. Almost got the SW2700 but went for the 270 for a couple reasons.
Anybody have any feed back on either monitor.

Something like this might work for you. I am sure there are well made similar one out there. Would be much cheaper than a new tripod, unless you just really want one.

I have a similar setup. I do seem to remember seeing an adapter where the bigger thread screws down onto the smaller. Will look for it but it has been some time back.

First, Photoshop just released a major update. If you buy something, you may want to wait to ensure the update is included. Next, there are many free or low cost tutorials on the internet. You may want to view a few of those to get an idea of where you need help.

There are many very good tutorials by many talented instructors on the web at low or no cost. Most you can download to review anytime. I am somewhat like you though and also like a hard copy to hold, reread and ponder about. The new update to PS and LR seem to be really nice. While I resisted at first as LR gets better and better I find I use it mostly and PS a lot less. That is until something comes along where I need it.Then it is invaluable.
