Almost looks 3 dimensional. Really like it. Well done.

Guess I should have googled them first, but I value UHH opinions. I withdraw my original inquiry. They do not appear reputable. Sorry for any inconvenience.

I searched UHH on the name above without any relevant matches. Does anyone have any experience with this store? Thanks.

I have just moved up in the cell phone category, my old flip phone that I have had for centuries, went kaput. So, I invested in an iPhone 8. I have never been interested in photography apps to download on a phone before, but, now I am interested. Please give me some ideas on useful apps to download.

PhotoPills. Great app and tutorials.

I have a Nikon D850 and I would like to know if when using the "single point focus square" and you focus on one spot [ example an animals eye ]  and then move the camera to get the complete object [ whole animal ] in frame does the focus change or is it locked in in the first spot focused on.

Check out Steve Perry’s guide to the Nikon focus system at Backcountry Gallery. In my opinion it is the definitive guide to the Nikon focus system and an indispensable resource.

Let me start off by stating I have a concealed carry permit and several semi automatic handguns, so I have nothing against guns. If someone wants to post artistic photographs of guns, then sure post them here. If someone merely wants to display and discuss his/her arsenal, I would think there would be more appropriate forums than this.

Something I have struggled with is comparing two images in different places in the film roll. I could use Compare mode but it's a PIA and I would want to see both images full screen one a time, and flip A to B to A to B.

Today I discovered that I can highlight two or more images in the film roll, and then using the arrow keys flip between them one at a, time full screen, skipping over all the unhighlighted images!!

This is great! It is exactly what I wanted.

Notes:
(1) View Mode is Loupe,
(2) to highlight I use CMD-Click in macOS (or CTRL-Click in Windows),
(3) It also works with an External monitor,
(4) works with both LR Classic and the new LR (cloud version).

I seem to remember that shift click would put multiple images on the screen it has changed with one of the updates. If you want to view multiple images on one screen select View->Survey and select them.

They make dedicated lens warmers you power with a cell phone charger

I have one of these lens warmers and it works great for Astro photography. If your power pack has multiple output settings or ports, I would suggest using the lowest power output.

I'm looking for a tripod with no center column, that is sturdy enough for a Sigma 60-600, and yet is easy to clean (after using in water or sand).

Can someone give me a pointer towards the right direction to look? I'm guessing I should start with Gitzo? Also, I'm almost 6ft tall so no short ones. I'm hoping to get something for less than $600, but maybe that is dreaming?

Thanks in advance for your help.

I’m 6’3” and use a Pro Media Gear TR 344L. It has an optional center column but plenty tall enough without it. Top quality but may push your $600 budget a bit. Don’t know about ease of cleaning.

Be careful, didn't use it one month and was charged about $15 as a non-use fee. Canceled it immediately!

I have not used mine for months and never encountered any “non use fee” and there is no such fee in my credit card agreement, and yes, I have read the agreement. Perhaps such a fee may have been added to more recent card agreements?

Agree with the two prior responses. Had one since the start, And it works great, just don’t carry any balance, as I recall the annual percentage rate is near 29%.

I am getting a lot of adverts in my Facebook feed touting various types of Lightroom add-ons like brushes and presets, even bundles. One (Serge Ramelli) says it is usually $340 but now it is only $19 for a bundle of brushes and presets. My scam alert went up. The websites seem to show very cool changes in photos, even a few with animation. I admit I am intrigued. Anybody out there purchase any of these types of programs? Thanks. Tom

Serge’s programs are always on sale. No need to rush. If he has your email you are very likely to get sale offers almost daily.

Enough damage to the country already. We need a president who behaves like one, not a would be king who thinks he can do anything he wishes regardless of the constitution. There, I’ve said it - finally had enough of these mean spirited nightly political shows masquerading at press conferences in the midst of a MEDICAL crisis.

I will admit it, I am a high-risk individual for exposure, so we have been closeted for now 16 days with no end in sight.

So, that being said, to keep myself sane I have been following the Cats with my Nikon (they run when they hear the focus motor), shooting sunsets and sunrises in Los Angeles and time-lapses with a DJI ActionCam.

What have all of you been doing to keep your sanity intact?

Trying to learn more post processing software. Right now trying to learn luminosity masks using Raya Pro software. Probably will be trying to learn this long after any quarantine is lifted.

Re: Please help with Menu settings on Nikon D850 for bird photography using prime lens Nikon 400mm and 600mm. I’m interested in learning from other photographers as to the settings that result in the sharpest possible bird images ...both while birds are sitting on distant (50-80 meters) tree branches and while birds are in flight.
Secondly, I’m trying to arrive at a clear understanding as to the function and conditions for use of the “Focus operation selection switch“. Is there any interaction between the ”Back Button Focusing” on the camera and the “Focus operation selection switch”?
I want to clearly know the purpose and when to use the fos switch. Thanks for your reply.

Search Steve Perry backcountry gallery and his books on the Nikon auto focus system and others. His manuals are great and he is also a member here.
