Can you recommend a slide scanner? This is for family slides, not a professional application. Several in a recent ‘best of’ article are discontinued. Considering Epson 550 or 600. Thanks.

I have a 35mm Plustek slide scanner that I will be offering for sale. Please let me know if you are interested and I can provide more details.

Thank you, I agree that an iPhone would probably work for his creativity, but I would like to be able to store his photos. So, an actual camera with an SD card would be better.

You can transfer his photos directly to an SD card or you can save to the iCloud or you can transfer and save them directly to a computer.

Although the iPhone camera does not have a view finder, the image quality is excellent and is as good if not better than most point and shoots. Light weight and very portable.

Gosh - Apparently you didn't notice that the OP is using the no longer supported Apple iPhoto and not the current Photos! I believe that iPhoto and Photos manage raw files differently, so maybe, "Useless Questions!!" can can help uncover helpful information. Just saying!!
