I am not trying to be a jerk here and I am grateful that people want to respond to my original post but I am puzzled by responses. My post is very clear on the info for which I am looking yet, I get all of these responses that have nothing to do with the information I am seeking. First I get replies on weight and price which I never requested. I think I can look at the weight/price of canon lens + adapter vs the sony. Then someone states something about the Sony being manual, which it isn't. More responses that have nothing to do with my original post. I am truly puzzled.

That’s one of the best macro lenses on the market, but there really are no bad macro lenses out there, even the 3rd party ones perform very well.

That’s great. But I don’t normally embrace the latest and greatest anything. Prefer to savor and enjoy. My newest camera is from 2017 and still savoring it along with his older brothers from 2005 and 2009. Camera companies probably dislike people like me. lol

That is probably very true, people in California have the I can’t wait attitude, just look at the lines in this state of people waiting to get the latest IPhone.

GAS attacks can be tough to deal with, but I like using the latest and greatest gear with everything from RGB LED lights to the newest camera bodies and lenses.

I do a lot of printing where I work with an Epson 3880, 50% of the paper I receive through UPS has a corner kinked but I am usually able to print inside of the kink and trim it off. This happens with 13x19”, 17x22” and occasionally 100 sheet boxes of 8.5x11. UPS is hard on packages.

Also I recently purchased a lens that was shipped via UPS next day air. It required a signature and I wasn’t going to be home when it would arrive so I used their “track the truck” app to find the truck and see if I could get the package before he got to my house. The driver said sure and ask for my address, he went on to the truck while I stood by the back of it and it sounded like a tornado was going through the inside of the truck with packages bouncing off the walls and the back door flexing in and out. The driver came out with my box and said here you go, I said I need to sign for it and he said “I’ll take care of it” without even asking to see my ID.

I just got the Nikon Z6 and I just love it. I also have a D750. The Z6 is as sharp, if not sharper, than the 750, using the same lens. The only downside I’ve found so far is my AF lenses won’t auto focus on the Z6.

That’s kind of a big problem, I assume you have D series lenses. That’s why I decided to switch to Sony and so far it’s been great.

Ebay has already started collecting sales tax on auctions in California. I purchased a used lens from Japan on EBay and the tax was added even though the tax rate was lower than my county. California sales tax varies by several percentage points all over the state.

I have the PayBoo card, it’s through Synchrony bank out of Florida. It’s 30% interest so I either pay the full balance the first month or move it to another account if I am spreading out the payments over several months. I have 2 cards for my business so I try to use those so I can write the interest off.

Adorama does not charge sales tax. Your information is incorrect.

They do now, I just purchased some items this week and they charged me California sales tax even thought the tax rate was incorrect.

MPB is a great place to buy and sell, I have sold them equipment twice now with my recent sale being most of my Nikon collection that included 4 camera bodies and 17 lenses. Their quote was very close to Ebay prices after the Ebay and PayPal fees. They paid for the shipping and paid the exact price they quoted after they inspected my gear. A great experience for the second time, now I am happily building a Sony system and so far loving it.

It’s true, optically it is a better lens. The only way the Nikon is better is because you can use 77mm filters on it.

No, I did not see that edge softness with Nikon counterpart.

All 24-70 zooms have edge softness compared to the center of the lens, the latest Canon version shows the least corner softness. It has been well documented and posted online. You probably won’t notice it in everyday shooting unless you are photographing a chart, brick wall or doing copy work where everything is squared up. All zooms and even most primes suffer from some corner softness. The newest mirrorless lenses are proving to be better performers in the corners, one of the advantages of the new systems.

The Nikon D800 series are all excellent for video, but you'll definitely need a tripod and external microphone for a quality vid. (Nikon's all-aspect, stereo mic, mounted on the camera hot-shoe, fits the bill for me.)

Not for professional work.
