I came to the lake around 4 PM just in the middle of a dinner party of 6 Egrets and one Heron.
It was very interesting to observe the "active" way they catch the fish. Usually they are very passive
staring at the water and quickly poking the fish.... but this time they were catching the fish by flying over the
water and plowing the heads into the drink getting the fish almost every time!
Those are my first attempts of BIF so forgive the quality.
All done with SX60.
Very nice shots!
Sorry, I am unable to help with the exact taxonomy but certainly Sandwich works here!
Thank you, sailorsmom!
For me he is like miniature "Poet on the Seashore"....:-)
Yop, little photoshop helps...
Thank you, jerryc41,
Thank you, Bultaco for your critique... I left this picture untouch, just cropped as I found the fact of blending the bird with Mother Nature somehow interesting.
My mistake probably, I wanted to be more "artistic".
After playing with photoshop I see the difference...
Oh, well, for me it is a steep learning curve...
I will appreciate any critique...
We were sitting close admiring the peaceful lake...:-)
Marvelous set !
Poor Sparrow, you can tell that he is not doing well. The birds should not suffer....
I am still waiting for my first Robin picture...
Thank you, Sailorsmam,
just trying to do my best!
Hi William,
IMHO your blue abstract is absolutely beautiful!
Thank you guys for kind words.
Thank you sleepydrdr for your input. I have no experience with the bigger cameras. I progressed from Pro1 to SX30 and now SX60 and I am stuck with it... have to master what I have....
Good to know that "this is not all my fault". Still, I need to practice more and more...
Following the popularity of sleepydrdr thread I would like to show some of my recent pictures with wildlife of So.California.
I am working hard on BIFs but so far with miserable results...:-(
All shots done with SX60HS
Great shots of magnificent birds!
This pic "Wings spread" is so cool!
