May I have some help with the ID of the tern? Closest I can figure is a "Sandwich Tern". Taken yesterday at Dow Regional Wetlands, Antioch, CA. They are swift, graceful, and acrobatic fliers spotting fish from 30 feet up and nabbing them with high velocity precision dives crashing at high speed into the water.
Nice variety - and WELL done ! .......thanks for sharing
Very nice shots!
Sorry, I am unable to help with the exact taxonomy but certainly Sandwich works here!
Nice set. I can't help with the ID, though.
Excellent work and a very beautiful set!

Very nice collection.
I'm inclined to id your tern as a Forster's Tern. Three reasons: the Sandwich tern has a unique bill which is black except for a lighter colored tip. Also, Sibley's field guide does not show the sandwich tern to be common in California. Lastly, the black on the head does not appear to cover the entire crown. If you have other shots, they may help to identify this bird.
