And Mr Owl is apparently keeping a close eye on you too! Nice shot.

Awesome pic. About bees, I used to be very afraid of them until I started getting into photography. It's almost scary what I'll do now to get a great shot. :-)

I used to think "squeaky toys" were the key until the young ones would just run at me to get at the toy. So I do have some great shots being chased down and of course, shots of them after they captured my toy. It does get the attention of the adults though and usually coaxes a smile out of all :)

Outstanding photo. Perfect

Thanks Penny, it didn't win me the free cruise but it did get an honorable mention in their contest & magazine. My first "recognition"...

:D

Just a little underexposed. She is cute and the background is nice.

Thanks Val. I seem to do this with many of my shots as I worry about blowing out skin tones...

So WHO took the photo

Yes that is my ship however that would be a good trick getting this shot from out there. On this island, we "tender in" via the lifeboats and the ship hangs out at anchor. One of our favorite stops. Fyi, it's shot with the Sig @ 10mm.

Here's my Sig at 10mm. Being a little distorted myself, I like the fun you can have with this lense. 8-)

As a chill is in the air this morning, my thoughts turn to cruising. One of our favorite stops is this one.

I shot a friend's 2 yr old recently. Hard to take a bad one of this little cutie.

Is the berry pic handheld? I was going to go with the 70-300vr but I know I'd be cursing when in a gym or less than ideal light. Did you ever use that lense before your Sigma?

Hi DB. New here and just saw your topic which interested me after spending over an hour reading about 2.8 options last night. Is your copy the latest version II without OS? Saw that for around $800. I'm leaning towards this one, any other tidbits you can share? (The OS version is out of reach for me right now and costs as much as a used Nikon VR I.) Did you look at other options before you got the Sigma. Oh, love the pic by the way!

Greetings. Well yet another site to absorb and learn from - love it. As my title says, I shoot with a couple D40's and hope never to part with them (I spend my $ on glass). Always looking for new tips and tricks and I'll add some of my own when I can. So hello hello and ciao for now...
