The kit lenses are very sharp---optically equal to the more expensive lenses, but of lesser build quality. If taken good care of, your gear is fully capable of producing the sharpness you seek. Look to your technique: the VR won't prevent softness if your shutter speed is too slow or your aperture too wide and your stance/grip too unsteady. The tack-sharpness you admire usually involves a rock-steady tripod.

Bob-
Be sure to check out the air museum in McMnvl where the Spruce Goose and many vintage, beautifully restored planes can be seen and photographed. If Mary was OK and if I weren't 91, I'd meet you there.

Look forward to receiving your check and shipping address.

Bob-The air museum in McMinnville-home of the "Spruce Goose"- is very interesting. They have some really great planes-beautifully restored. Among them: Ford tri-motor, GB racer from the 30s, Howard Hughes sleek radial engined racer (tail-dragger with retractable landing gear). Wish I could re-visit it and meet you. Being 91 that'll have to wait for the next life time.

Look forward to your check and shipping address.

Bob-
I'm about 80 miles from McMinnville and trapped in Eugene because of care-giving of my invalid wife. I would love to be able to meet you there but can't do it. If you'll send me your name, shipping address, phone no., email address and a check, I'll send you the lens. Thanks for your interest.

According to Rockwell, this is the lens against which others were measured for sharpness across the frame and at all apertures, and for distortion. Focus is silky-smooth and build is like a battleship. Works beautifully with FX and DX's (7xxx and up) on manual and aperture-preferred. Can be bought new from Nikon or their dealers for $399.95.

This one is absolutely like new. Price $175.00 with 30 day, full refund, return privilege. I'll pay Fedex ground shipping (conusa), or deduct $12.00 for cash and carry in Eugene, OR. Payment any reasonable way other than PayPal.

PM if interested

Voss-I'm an avid fan of your street photography. You have a great eye for the genre and your processing is always discreet. If your shooting method isn't proprietary, how about letting us know how you go about it? Do you mingle or stand off--or both? What gear do you favor? Have you had any unpleasant encounters?

Please, keep 'em coming!

Lens is as new--part of D750 kit bought from Shutterbug in Eugene a month ago. USA lens with blank registration and copy of sales receipt included. Buyer should be able to register this lens.

Includes caps, hood, case and I'll throw in Fedex shipping to CONUSA, and Pro-optic filter kit (UV, ND2 and CPL).

Any one interested in this lens already knows of its quality. Reason for selling: Mounted on the D750 it's too big and heavy for my 91 year bod. My short and mid primes are not.

Asking $500.00. Payment any way except Paypal.

PM me if interested.

jaymatt makes a good point; but I'm guessing that you planned these compositions. I'm noticing two black and white and two color. Don't think that was random. The last shot was interesting because you chose to put a tilt to the scene. It is probably not a choice I would make; but I don't think it is a mistake either, so it merits consideration. I think what it does for you composition is to make it less ordinary. I see that as a plus. The color shot where you have the woman's body and hands has the same feel to it. The obvious choice would be to include the head and face. By keeping that out, you are concentrating on what she is doing and not who she is or what she looks like. I think it is an interesting set of photos. Not at all unexpected. Your photos usually give me pause to think.

Nice ideas here, but I think you'd have better shots if you'd include people's heads to capture their expressions while doing whatever they're doing.

Actually Jaymatt, there is only one decapitation. I was so entranced with her lovely body that I failed to notice her head. I do appreciate your comment. Many thanks. Bob

These four grab shots were chosen from about 25, all at the same exposure but on auto ISO. The short focal length MF lens permits pre-setting the distance for appropriate DOF. (being rather old and deaf, I don't worry about noise)

Get a 35 or 50mm and enjoy the liberating feeling of greatly reduced weight and bulk. And let your feet do the zooming.

Many of the refurbished cameras were demos at Best Buy, Wallmart, et al, and have under 100 shutter count. They get checked out, and of course, cleaned up. Then they're put in a white box and sold to us.

Anyone contemplating purchase of Nikon DF should read Tom Hogan's comprehensive, objective review of this camera. Google "Nikon DF reviews" to find it.
