Not sure about the first two little birds. Courting Red Wing Blackbird. Courting Sandhill Cranes. GBH with a Fish. American Bittern.
And the biggest Gator I have ever seen! I'm thinking about 14 feet!!
The Snowy Egret is several feet closer to the camera so he looks relatively pretty big but even at that you can see that the Gator is a Monster!
These all come from Lake Apopka yesterday.

Beautiful captures CPO. The first two little ones are quite prevalent in Florida this time of the year before migration to the north. I’ve had the pleasure of catching a multitude of their photos in past years ( except this year, sadly said ). Both are in their plain non-breeding costumes. The first is a Palm Warbler and the second a Yellow-dumped Warbler.
Since for reasons beyond my control I won’t/cannot enjoy the pleasures of chasing all my feathered friends down there I am truly enjoying your beautiful posts. Keep them coming.

Tis true, the items on this sign are a figment of imagination of those folks at the Indian Hills Community Center in Colorado. I doubt that there is a place named Sam and Ella anywheres near the sign. (thats not saying that there is not one elsewhere) It was the idea of one of the locals by the name of Vince Rozmiarek whom volunteered at the center. There are a whole pile of these cute quotes online for your perusal. Just search the name of the Center for good selection of these online. I quite enjoy reading the many different sayings that have been placed on the sign and posted online. It gives us a chuckle during this trying time in our lives.

I'd like to see what he bought as an upgrade to that ??

Supposedly Brady has bought a lot in Miami-Dade at Indian Creek Village (nicknamed Billionaire's Bunker) where he plans to build his new home (mansion that is). This is the same area where it was recently reported that the Kushner's (Jared and Ivanka) paid 30M for a plot of land with their intention on also building an abode.
Ah, to be overly well off and able to rub elbows with the rich and famous.

Thank you Mark for bringing back pleasant memories of my yesterday’s. It was in many ways a much better world compared to now INMHO. However things do have a tendency to change over time. It’s hard to believe that in 63 I just reached the age where I could finally order a cool one (legally).
From the snow belt in northern Ontario Canada I and my better half wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas and a better New Year. May the Lord’s blessing be with you always.😊😊

All my Nikon gear is made in Thailand and there is nothing wrong with the quality. I have been thinking of switching to Canon, because Nikon makes many of its lenses in China. But if Nikon is going to focus on Thailand, I will wait and see what happens. I have no problem with the quality of the lenses from China, I just do not want to support China's abuses of human rights. That is a personal decision, I am not telling anyone else what to do, but I sold off my two Chinese Nikon lenses and will not buy any more. I would be very happy to consider the same lenses if they were made in Thailand.

I recommend that if your concerned about human rights in China you take a glance at the Thailand 2019 Human Rights Report from the US State Department (Google search). You’ll not find much difference overall from China.

Not sure what the directives have been in your neck of the woods but up here in the north this is the request (orders) from our local constabulary. So we will follow the directives as they have been given and are sending out

CHRISTMAS DAY INVITATIONS

This year we've been told that only “people in your own household” are allowed to meet for Christmas Day, but yet 30 people are allowed for a funeral ????

As a result we’ll be holding a funeral for our pet Turkey named "Butterball" who will pass away on December 24, 2020.

Refreshments provided, and in lieu of flowers please bring a side dish.

So, when is it appropriate to use the "F" word?

Quite frankly, the "F" word can be the ONLY word in the English language that accurately describes some situations.

Have used both VistaPrint and Printique in the past with very good results (I believe Printique was originally Adoramapix a part of the photohouse Adorama of New York)

Lately, I've become fascinated with Cajun culture, language, music, and especially the food! I came across Amazing Grace sung in Cajun French. I found it to be utterly beautiful and the videos fit it to a tee. I hope you will enjoy it as much as I did.

Thanks for the link, twas appreciated. Brought back memories of my youth (many moons ago 😀). Sounds similar to the lullabies I heard when a toddler. My Grandmere was of Acadien blood (the true source of your Cajuns) whom would speak and sing with very similar words and accents as in this song. It’s interesting that although this is French it still was/is somewhat different in some aspects to that spoken in other areas of the world. When Grandma spoke in her native language (Acadien) a lot of the French people who talked to her sometimes would have trouble understanding her (mainly the Quebecois in our area). When I was young I was told she spoke Parisian French but I soon realized as I began studying our family heritage that it was not. She was actually speaking for the most part Acadien French. She was a proud, stubborn, battle axe female Acadien lady (but totally lovable) whom ruled her home and us Grandkids with a iron hand (gently of course) So again thanks for the video and the refreshing of memories of a very special lady in my life.

I did have a name and cannot locate same! I have a Panasonic DMC FZ35 that is not working correctly.

The person you are looking for is Rick Riggins. Rick ran into a few medical problems A while back which put him out of commission for a spell. However it now appears that he may not be a independent repairman anymore. According to his LinkedIn profile he is listed (from 2015 to the present) as a Camera Fulltime Repair Technician at the camera store Cameraworks of Colorado Springs. At least I think this is the same person whom used to offer camera repairs here on the Hog (but I could be wrong 😱). However the information on this store is available online.

Yes Roadrunner, your pics bring back memories of a better time. But seeing the empty streets in your pics saddens me knowing what it should be like. As for birds check out the eBird.com website for your area. It will tell you of all the “hot spots” (birding locations) frequented by us bird watchers.
But for sure stay safe and healthy.
