With all respect, nobody forces anyone to upgrade. But as mentioned, one day you will have to. Some of us are able/want to follow the technology and some HAVE to. My profession is a System Administrator and Project manager and I need to keep up up date. There are not many many changes. Just getting ready for a newer and more modern way.

http://www.pcadvisor.co.uk/review/operating-systems-software/windows-7-vs-window-10-comparison-review-3617974/

I suggest that all users wondering of why or should upgrade, rather make their personal opinion on it by doing some minor searches and it will give enough good info about both differences and why and should.

By all means win7 for me was the next best versjon after windows 2000 Professional. And I consider Windows 7 still a good OS to stick with. But my experience with the upgrade is based not on 1 or two home computers, and I did it on my personal equipment. And by now I can honestly say , that all challenges I had have been easy solved.

Of course think can go wrong. But then you have to be able to know why.

By all means, if you dont feel the need, and dont feel comfortable with such procedures, then you have two options
1. Stick with what you have.
2. Let someone else do it for you.

And I think that's going to be me my advice from now on to ALL asking "should I or Should I not". Or better yet , I think I'm going to never answer such questions again. There will always be MAC patriot throwing the gulp of "You better go to MAC" or "Oh dont do !!!! the win10 upgrade is sh*t and messed up everything". '

I am sorry for being frustrated, but since I started being active on UHH and tried to be helpful on technical stuff, there is always a troll jumping and sh*t on the thread. They are not even answering correctly to the main question. They just hijack the thread with their problems and askin for solution.

I have been procrastinating about updating to Windows 10, in part hoping to wait until any bugs are removed. I am not looking forward to a prolonged process!

Is it time for me to update...or should I wait a bit more?

If I should go ahead, do you have any advice that will make the process easier?

Thanks for any advice.

When I do my original run through of imported photos I star rate them and "reject" some. Is there a way to see all the rejected photos before actually deleting them?...just to be sure....

thanks

I like to use larger flashes with my Sony. That is why I still have my Sony RX100 II. I mount the Sony 60 flash on this camera and can use all of the advantages with it attached. It has the flash shoe on top of the camera. If you like bounce flash you can actually pull the pop up flash on the camera back and bounce off ceilings. For me, the II is the camera of choice

Is the pop up flash, with bounce capability, not a feature of the latest models?

Get an 11 inch netbook and use it instead of an iPad. I was only planning on using my iPad to show the finished product, but decided since it was so slow just to load Lightroom on my MacBook and use that.

P.S. I never cull on a trip. I am too busy taking the pictures to do any more than delete the out of focus ones.

12 hours on a plane might change your mind...but point about net book is a good one...thanks

Looked at the mobile app when it first came out. Tried it. Didn't like it for this reason. Unless I'm misunderstanding, your LR desktop install syncs the collection's images with an Adobe server somewhere. Then the mobile app syncs with that server. That's a lot of syncing. I didn't relate 'productivity' with the app. All it takes is one crowded (busy) connection to bring things to a crawl.

I have loved it to do early deleting and star ratings on a new batch of photos from a vacation. makes good use of airplane time. but,,,not if they don't sync!!

thanks

I tried the trial when it was available when I first downloaded Lightroom and decided that I could download the photos better using iTunes & a cable into my iPad. It was slow then(last year).

I could do that but, if I understand correctly, then I couldn't use LR Mobile to edit and cull those photos while on a long trip...which is what I am hoping to do.

Thanks for your response

I am syncing one collection (3000 pics) to my iPad using LR mobile. LR says it is syncing. the collection, and now after 2 hours only 15 pictures have shown up on my iPad. I have 24 GB of storage remaining on my iPad.
But, it is running very, very slowly. Any ideas about what could be the cause?

thanks for any help
