Think I'll re-take the photo giving myself more room to start with. Glad to see the responses were mixed telling me the answer wasn't obvious! Thanks guys.. I do tend to crop too tight in camera. Was taught that back in the film days!
Crop out the tree on the right or leave it?
Kingmapix.... just spent some time looking at your stuff. you are King! Lovely work....
it does have a touch more contrast when printed! Thanks for looking.........
Original Color Photo with Lightroom applied changes... Love the overexposed look...... What do you think? I would have never thought to overexpose this shot in camera...
Just back from Michigan where I captured this gull. Razer Sharp!! Nikon 55-200 Shot at 200 1/250 f11...
Sounds like everyone strives for perfect white balance. First of all every camera manufacture has a different idea of grey, even between different models. I always shoot a grey card for reference later. That being said, have some fun in with white balance and filters. You'll be astounded as to the effects you can make.
Wrap bottom of legs in gaffer tape. It will come right off and will not leave any sticky residue! No muss or fuss.... You should always have some in your bag anyway!
I would like to change for a couple of reasons. I find myself using more and more speedlights inside and out. I need the high speed sync so I can run higher shutter speeds for background blur. I would also like to give flash command a try. I have a couple of pocket wizards, but they sure are expensive... White balance adjustments using grey card would be nice. also all the menu stuff is a pain... If I had my druthers I'd go full frame, but the budget isn't there for that. Don't get me wrong the 5100 is a good camera and I get great results from it, but I've outgrown it.
I am considering moving up from my 5100 to a 7100... What will happen with my existing lenses? Will my wide angle be wider? What happens with my zoom? Can I get high speed sync with the 7100? Thanks in advance!
probably mis-used at some point causing it to become weak. I use mine all the time, never had a problem... If it breaks I'll contact my insurance person. The convenience is worth the little risk. Strap has saved a camera drop more than once...
I wouldn't use a 50 for portraits, especially head and shoulders. Your subjects will hate it as it tends to flatten and exaggerate. Otherwise compose and shoot!
