I'm feeling the love right now, thank you
Wow! I love waxwings but we don't have them here. The 2nd shot is awesome, but it felt like he was squinting the soul outta me!
That would mean no Don Rickles, and I love Rickles!
I think they're beautiful, nicely done
You must be so proud of yourself! I'm a wee bit jealous.
That is adorable! She really likes you ;O)
Bob! You've caused quite a ruckus for a newbie!
It took me a bit to get brave but I've posted some pics in the gallery. Thank you for the welcomes, much appreciated!
Here goes...most of these were taken with my Rebel with a Tamaron 355 mm lens or a Nikon P500 point and shoot. I had a P100 & when the shutter button went Nikon chose to replace instead of repair it. The 100 took awesome macro's, albeit "fake" to the purist, but superior to the 500. I'm only now taking the time to use my Rebel in manual mode (shame on me). I've always been a slow learner :O).
Spotted this beauty at Walt Disney in FL., taken w/Canon Rebel and a slight vignette added
Southwest Airline, departing Ft. Lauderdale, FL heading back to LI, taken with Nikon P100 & tweaked w/ a tilt shift
Crazy storm over Kismet, Fire Island, taken w/Canon Rebel
Gerber Dew taken w/Nikon P500, sharpening filter used
A Wining Sunset, Kismet FI taken with Nikon P500, no tweaking, Kismet sunsets are always perfect
Orchard Spider taken with Nikon P500
Rain on plant w/Nikon P500 & Kromatic IPad App...I look for hearts everywhere
Boys...taken w/ Canon Rebel
God rays...Canon Rebel & a hint of sharpening filter
Ferry Races! Canon Rebel, sharpening filter
Big Dew...Nikon P500
I am outing myself here! This forum is incredible, I've already learned quite a bit from you folks!
My name is Christine, I live on Long Island, mother of two, married to my best bud, and when not working or creating I am out rescuing creatures with four legs, mainly Shetland Sheepdogs, but we don't discriminate.
I have a 6 year old Canon Rebel and a Canon Powershot SX 50 hs. The powershot just replaced a Nikon P500. I use the point & shoot for my macro shots and because I must have a camera with me wherever I go! Typically my Rebel has the big Tamaron lens on it, rarely if ever took it off but I just purchased a macro lens and a proper backpack for my summer field trips. Now I am just waiting for signs of spring to get out there and try it. I am considering an upgrade to my Rebel *sniff-sniff*, just not sure to what yet.
1% photo, 99% Photoshop...just my opinion. I even think the fisheye is from Photoshop?
This is gorgeous. Reminiscent of Shorpy without the real years behind it, nicely done!
I need to know too please. (Newbie here) this is the second mention on the site of lens fungus, not something I knew could happen, and worse yet, how to avoid?

Hi, what actually is fungus and why is it not removable. Thanks Terry.

I had a Sigma like this lens once that I was very happy with. One nice thing about it was that once it was in focus it would stay in focus even when you adjusted the zoom. It was very sharp as well. I hope you enjoy yours as much as I did mine. Unfortunately it got fungus inside the rear lens and was unrepairable so I replaced it with the Nikon 28-300mm.
