Politics is a bad subject.
Have a great day.

No Politics is an important subject!!!!!They can change our lives for good or bad!
Get your priorities right. When people in power rule your life....have least try to understand what the *u** they are getting YOU into.

Few people now understand politics .....Social Media lies with impunity....We are in danger of being royally screwed, through ignorance of the facts.

That is worse than losing the right to v**e..

It is happening in the UK as well as the US....!

The ugly, negative effects of r****m go much deeper than your childish perceptions.
It isn’t about name-callIng, or simple talk laced with surface r****m; it is discrimination that permeates the way people live; the opportunities people are denied, the role that they are forced to play, the self-worth that is adversely effected, the ramifications of a twisted legal system, a slanted law enforcement system, a disparity in educational opportunities, and a host of other detrimental, sometime subliminal effects.
Trump envisions a white man’s world.
The ugly, negative effects of r****m go much deepe... (show quote)

Great Reply.....
Institutional r****m is often 'invisible' or wrapped up in so called well meaning 'practices'. Social Housing is a prime example.....by simply starting out housing the poor and needy, very soon you get predominent grouping which then encourages 'similar types to be housed in that area....so that they feel 'comfortable' or 'safe' within 'their own community'. It sounds reasonable but it ends up as a Ghetto.....yes we have them in the UK too.
We have Parents moving house in order that their children go to 'so called,,,,Good schools' which then means that local parents cannot get their child into their local school. Predominantly White Gentrification of Education...and elitism within a state run education system...

When people think they are not r****t...it is because the diversity of people they know is safely within their own ideas about 'who is nice' and who is 'acceptable' within their own social group. Then ignore the facts that 'an awful lot of people have very little chance of reaching the opportunities available to that level of 'social status'.(wherever you think you are).
Individuals see society in 'small groups'......Government should be ensuring that 'everyone' is given the same 'chances in life'.....That isn't C*******m or Left wing wishful thinking....it is called Ignoring Race (or even Religion) and treating people exactly how you would like to be treated. (which is the law in most places)

Society is constantly being 'broken down' into small groups. Sport does it....your team V everyone else. The media does it (about everything!!) Government census is constantly changing 'social status'.....Postmen were once classed as middle class and aircraft pilots shared the same status as bus drivers once upon a time!!!!. Elitism is 'built in' to our society......yet every society is diverse.

Those who spout about 'difference' should never be put into power.

have fun - that apparently is open to all

Time lapse comes in several forms
The most obvious is a number of shots of the same subject over time..
Less obvious is making commuters 'disappear' by taking a long exposure using a dark filter so that those things that move do not register and static objects do....eg empty train station .... or a less dark filter that allows a static object to be in focus and a slowly moving scene to develop ie a tree or cliff face with a blurred cloud (or developed storm) to be enhanced.
the other is a 'star spin' when a long 'timed' exposure creates a spin formation of the galaxy......or light trails from moving traffic looking down on a highway.

Perhaps if you state 'which' kind of 'time laps' you are interested in it will focus members replies,

have fun

What ever happened to that? You don't have to invite friends and distant family back when they misbehave but what do you do with close relatives that totally act like morons, don't help with anything, let their kids run wild. We both believe we set a good example as our kids grew up but nothing seems to have taken. The whole weekend was tense and we had to walk on eggshells the whole week end. Any suggestions?

Just tell them you are on holiday that weekend!
Have a clear out....excess beds and chairs....change bedrooms into 'art studio' or 'zen meditation room'. sorry no bedrooms for anyone else!
Put your favourite music on LOUD ALL THE TIME...cause you're going deaf!
Suggest that 'They' take you out for all meals etc (at their expense)

When it comes to food and beverages: it seems you can fool most of the people most of the time. Actually buying bottled water proves the point. Studies have shown that there is absolutely NO benefit. In countries with poor sanitation.....chances are 'bottled water' comes from 'the nearest supply' contaminated or not!

Fill your own bottles and flavour it as you will...

I think that disabled people - actually come to terms with their disability and their aids, so trying to 'shy away' from their walkers, wheel chairs etc puts up an unnecessary boundary. I would look at the positive things that they like doing.....be it sport, gardening, etc and photograph them 'doing' rather than emphasizing what they cannot.

With people you automatically alter settings when photographing ethnic differences in skin tones without worrying....Same should apply with disabled people. Get them comfortable, discuss what their interests are and how they would prefer to be portrayed.

You are just a soft touch.....! But then money's only use is to be spent....it is a bonus if you actually like 'where and for what' you spend it on. In the UK we currently have an interest rate of .75% on savings (Yes....less that a penny in the pound...in fact we have no coinage that small). Compared to some....if you have cash left over - having paid all the bills you can consider yourself rich.

you cannot take it with you.....and possibly will not approve 'on what' your heirs spend it on.

I come from Westmorland (as was)....now much reduced as Cumbria. There was dialect in the valleys different to the dialect in the hills. School killed my old way of speaking and then moving to Lancaster (Lancashire) and growing up some, changed it yet again. When I moved South to sunny Bognor....oddly my accent and use of certain words got picked up on by people I talk to...it seems all is not lost! My 'southern belle' can't understand a word when I speak to my elder brothers - cause half of what is said is in that odd mix called 'Northern'.

Accents are what make populations different, especially in the UK - they should be treasured.

A prime lens focuses with a full depth of field at its length.
A zoom lens has a variable depth of field depending upon where it is focussed.....so distant shots zoomed in will have a shallow depth of field - can look flat...but this 'dissapears' the closer you are to the subject and therefore using 'less zoom'.

Your eyes focus on various points of 'view' so that you can distinguish relative distances 'in focus'....lenses are set ......so that a known dof is achieved.....whether you like it or not....or can actually see the subtle differences this causes.

have fun by getting to know 'which' of your lenses gives you the image you want.

Many cameras now come with the ability to change the focus point to anywhere in the frame, often by using a joystick or by touch. I have always used back button autofocus where I focus on the subject then just recompose. The other way seems much slower to me... or am I missing something (wouldn't be the first time :-)

As far as I know, having multiple points of focus alters the depth of field when needed. When using the various 'rules of composition' having the focus point where you need it whilst recomposing may help (Windy conditions perhaps).

Most cameras are sold on 'improvement's between models....Few will use them all....but most people get 'sold' on the minutia of the specifications. Hence 'back button focus' Not everyone uses it....some of the older cameras cannot even be changed for this 'feature'.

Questions seem to come in bunches - then disappear for a while only to return 'again'. LR seemed to 'hog' the forum for a while (when new) and now occurs infrequently.

Asking for 'opinion's' on Kit works for some and not for others....but those that do not want to 'express their opinion' can always skip that topic.

Putting another section available for PC's and Camera/Lens choices will probably not result in better replies....and as one poster suggested...they are an integral part of the Main Photography section. Plus who could moderate concerning the wide variety of choices and genres available?

I think members themselves should decide 'when' to comment and when to skip past. Perhaps NOT having the digest of 'new topics' would encourage people to explore the sections that they are most interested in rather than feeling that they need to reply to the short list of the day.

Religion evolved as a frame for the mystery of the concept of "authority", nothing more, nothing less. The arguments you describe are simply examples of that. Each human frames it their own way and desires to be the authority on the issue.
