Does anyone know that there was a significance to the port holes on a Buick's hood or front fender?
There is, the number of ports revealed whether the Buick was equipped with a V6 or V8. The Buick Electras in photo 7 each sport four ports on each side, therefore they have V8 engines. The Yellow Buick Eight in the last photo also sports 4 vents or ports on each side. Buicks with 3 ports per side had V6 engines.
My 1973 Buick Century had a V8 engine and 4 ports on each side to signify that.

Good thing it didn't bounce too much. That could have made things even worse.
Now for the fix. By looking at the image posted it appears the card landed on its right side.
I would try gently tapping it on the left side while make observations of any progress.
Eventually the images may become un-compressed and return to normal.
Just be careful not to over do it.

Yup, it fell on it's edge. Now all of my images seem to be squished over to that side of the card.

A guy up here had this on his tag.... 6SIXVI. I had seen it a few times. Then one day the guys on the radio were talking about it. Apparently someone with too much time on their hands had seen it and felt it was inappropriate. They actually complained to D.O.T. and the guy got a notice that his tagged was going to be revoked.

They said the camera must fit the 8 x 8 bag. So no big deal, the camera (body) does indeed fit the bag. Was there any specification that the lens must be attached? Good, now the lens or lenses go in another bag. NO BIG DEAL.

I've seen them several times before, but always fun time when they are in town. USAF T-Birds are coming to Kirkland AFB this Saturday. Unfortunately they only allow cameras that will fit in an 8 inch x 8 inch camera bag (I've never seen a camera bag that small). I had hoped to take my 7DM2 with a 150-600, but looks like I'll use this as an excuse to take the Canon SX50.

I believe you are close on this. The blade end for hub caps and wheel covers. Lug nuts for the square opening and the hook may go into an eye on a scissor jack to crank it up and down.

garceh wrote:
I think that you are correct Bob. I have never seen one, but it makes sense. The hook is probably to separate the inside of the tire from the rim.

I fully agree with this. Goo gone is a very good product for this type of situation. It will not harm surfaces and will clean almost any type of adhesive from them.

A product named Goo-Gone is specifically made to remove adhesive labels. It is available at any hardware store and Amazon. Use a Q-tip with just a little of the solvent (not soaking wet) so that it doesn't get inside the lens. Alternate the application of the Goo-Gone with gentle scraping with a plastic instrument (plastic ball point pen cap works). It may take several applications, but the label will come off cleanly in a few minutes. If the label if off but there's still some advesive left, just go through the process once more. Should take care of it. Follow the label directions carefully. >Alan

Read my first response, washed and dried. Still working years later.

I dont think a normal thumb drive would survive the dryer.

Been there done that. I did my laundry and when emptying the drier I found my 4G SanDisk Cruiser thumb drive. I figured it was toast. I let it sit a day or two to ensure that it had ample time to dry out, may not have been required as it had been through the dryer already. Then I plucked up the courage to plug it into the computer. To my surprise it was accessible and the full directory and folders were there. I opened some of the files and was pleasantly surprised to find it appeared to be operating normally. That was a few years ago now and the drive is still in service today.

The other day I edited a lot of B&W photos and then copied them to a thumb drive. I forgot to empty my pockets when I threw my pants into the washing machine. To my horror I discovered the thumb drive in the washer, it had been through wash cycle, rinse cycle, and spin cycle. I put the thumb drive in my pocket and when I was at Wal-mart, I decided to see if the photos survived the washer and to my surprise the photos were in tact.
