Welcome to the forum. As a newbie myself, it is tough to lay yourself bare when just starting. In general though, the group here provides insightful and constructive feedback to posted pictures. As amateurs, most of us take pictures for own pleasure (with the exception of the pros in the community), but others' opinions can help us grow in our abilities. Never be embarrassed, but always be humble.

Hi all,

I recently took a trip to Orlando and was able to spend a couple hours in the Greenwood Urban Wetlands. I would love some feedback from the collective on the image quality. I am relatively new to digital photography and did make a few mistakes with my camera settings (it is a new to me camera), but I tried to compensate for them in Lightroom. All shots are cropped to make up for the reach limitations with my set up. Shots were taken with a handheld Nikon D5300, a Nikkor AF-S 70-300 4.5-5.6, and VR on.

I would love constructive feedback (Apologies for the white borders... I am working on figuring out how to get rid of them in Lightroom when I save the images as JPGs).

Thanks!

Hi all. I've been snooping around the forums for a few months and figured it is time to come out of the shadows :)

I am an amateur photographer living in Vermont and am renewing my interest in photography by actually learning the art of photography, versus just taking pictures. I recently made the leap to a digital SLR with the purchase of a Nikon D5300, Nikkor AF-P 18-55 3.5-5.6, and a Nikkor AF-S 70-300 4.5-5.6 (I really like this lens). My other cameras are a Canon T-90 with assorted lenses, a Canon EF (shares the T-90 lenses), and a Fuji FinePix S5000 which got a lot of use before I got the Nikon. I mostly photograph nature and wildlife. I am looking forward to the warm weather to combine my renewed interest in photography with my favorite pass-times... boating and motorcycling.

I recently took a business trip to Orlando and was able to get some time in the Greenwood Urban Wetlands... I'll post some pics from that for critique shortly. Attached is a recent photo of an area near where I live... it is an ice fishing shanty on Lake Champlain.

I look forward to learning and contributing!

- Matt
