Here is my homemade rig. I use my Sony A57 with macro lens. I disable anti-shake and shoot against white monitor screen at f8-f11 and 1 second. Kodachrome Photo from 1960.

I am surprised that no one has commented on my $1.00 slide copier nor the image made by its use. If I did not brush/blow each slide I copy, I could easily copy 10 slides a minute with it. I doubt that any slide copier purchased for that purpose would do any better. The digital image made with my copier is of 16 megapixels resolution, less a bit due to cropping.

Where's the coffee pot?

That's the bad aspect. It's 10 feet away, but the beer is just 7.

I had my Canon P&S out for a few test shots when I spotted these two on the brick wall. They spent a good while circling each other until the quick strike sent the little one to the ground.

Streets, it tells me a whole lot but are 100% taken this way? I love your setup.

More like 95%. Sometimes I sit on the patio, but the best results usually come from the breakfast area through the picture window. Thanks for your reply, Greg.

Don't worry about it. I was just having a bit of fun with your brain fart. Wish I had a nickel for every brain fart I've ever had. I would be a wealthy man. Being human is such a challenge, isn't it?

This Myrtle/Yellow Rump Warbler has been chasing away all birds of his species away from the feeders. He has been doing this for over a month. I have never seen this go on for so long. Birds of other species, including Wrens and Finches pay him no attention.

I was addressing the O.P. You may now quietly recede to the depths from which you came, old buddy.

I upgraded from the Nikon d5000 to the d500 because of the features. I do not care what others think.
But I was at a restaurant in Plymouth Michigan during the ice carving feasible, and a lady commented on what a beautiful camera I had. Never thought about cameras being beautiful. I had the 18 to 300 zoom on it so the setup is rather impressive to those with point and shoots. That lens is my walk around set up. I put a SB800 on top when the light is low. After about an hour the setup gets heavy; so there is a price to real pay. Time will tell what I think after hiking in France this spring.

Inspector Clouseau, what is an "ice carving feasible" ?

I'd say the majority of photographers fall somewhere in between. Again, how do you figure out where to draw the line?

Base these categories on individual taste, as that's essentially what we have been discussing throughout this thread.

Lets settle this. Let's have two distinct categories: One shall be named "Bad camera user" and the other "Good camera user".

I've never seen a Cedar Waxwing here, but to me, they are beautiful. They have the most streamlined body I've ever seen. Well done.

Here is the same bird facing the camera.
