Brother took me out for a bit today so I was able to get some fantastic images despite the gloomy day here in Southern Ontario.

So the first thing that was ever taught to me is that there is never a bad photo, only a photo to be learned from. My biggest help has always been to look at my Exif data on each photo when I get home. That data has shown me if a photo was a bit blurry then maybe check my shutter speed for next time make sure it was not to low for the lense I am shooting. Maybe on a bird shot the head is sharp but the wing tips are blurry well my Exif may well tell me that my Aperture was wrong and I should raise it to get more of my shot in focus. It may also tell me that my ISO was creeping up on me and maybe I should have lowered my shutter speed a bit to lower my ISO. If you can get the general basics to take some shots out in the field then learn from your Exif data for the next time you head out or write yourself a cheat card for how you missed a shot the time before that may help.........If all else fails find a friend who has the time to spend out with you helping you to set your camera up to take shots then discuss the Exif with them after over a cup of tea.....I have done this many times for people and sometimes it is just easier to learn hands on.

Hope some of this helps and your off to a great start

Although I have not shot Nikon I did do a fair bit of research on them before I picked up a Panasonic g85. You may also want to check out the Nikon d7200 it and the Nikon d7500 both compare real close depending on which bells and whistles better suit your shooting style. Just throwing it out there

1 and 4 are dynamite

So 4 is actually a crop of this included shot, it is the Mallard on the left hand side in truth I just really liked the fact the old design light was in the back ground. They are ok but it was a very dull day here and I was pushing the speed at 1/2000 to stop the action and that raised the ISO higher then I would have liked but they turned out not to bad.

I would like to thank everyone for your kind comments

Great set it is funny how some days you have to look for ever and other days they just fall in front of the lense

So after spending the last week in hospital laying in a bed decided it was time to try to go for a walk today. Didn't get to far but stopped in Southside Park in Woodstock to see is anything was around. Pond is still frozen but the river was flowing high. There were some Mallard Duck and Canadian Geese lounging around on the banks. We need a bit more heat.

Photography is very simple in my mind........I am given the gift to capture a nano second in the life of this planet. By that I mean whether it be animal, bird, nature or landscape it is ever evolving and changing I was just lucky enough to be allowed a moment to capture that change.
My photography is for me if others get enjoyment from it that is a bonus, everytime I take a photo I am once again learning what did I do right or wrong. How can I improve next time. I do not care if you are professional or amature it is photography you will always be learning because we are humans and our mind constantly changes to how we see a subject.
The last thought is my photos are my journey of my time enjoying the time I am allowed to spend here..........nothing more nothing less.

with the 100-300 ii lense
Was at an event late last fall where a local camera shop had setup a manufacture's trial day and had some local falconers bring their birds in to be photographed.

Great shot of a soul-searching gaze. Ginger cats are the best, I think. My pal passed last year, but he was a great bud. I think I have attached a photo from his younger days.

Looks like he is saying "Really no treats again"
