You said:
“......so the shutter needs to stay open longer to get everything in focus.”

In teaching persons, new to photography, we must be careful when using the words ‘sharper’, ‘focus’ and ‘blur’ as related to shutter duration.
A longer shutter duration does not insure that an image will be more in focus.
;)
Otherwise, very good!

I was taught at a very young age to NOT to take what is not yours.

Asking is however an option.

If you take a picture of my personal garden, or any other item I have labored to design and build; then place it on your wall, have you stolen from me?

You have taken something that is not yours.....right?

I can't answer your question but I wanted to say that first image is beautiful. Have you considered printing it on metallic paper?

Can someone direct me to a view of a 'metallic paper' image?
Thanks.

Yes, but you're going to see the difference in person, not so much on the screen.

I have a policy at my house that might help with the Spanish speeking tech. If english is not your first language (preferably your only language) you do not get to come into my yard or house to work on anything.

With this policy in place you may never be able to get your roof replaced. :(

Women should be happier people.

They can change their last name simply by marrying or remarrying.
They are masters of the device where the food is cooked and they never have to worry about all that stuff outside.
Gets to be ‘queen for a day’ at their weddings.
Enjoys chocolate more than sex.
Can be ‘the first lady’ by simply marrying a politician.
Can produce a baby that might grow up to be president.
Can draw a crowd by just wearing a white tee shirt at a water park.
Might get a big dollar contract by not wearing a shirt at a water park.
Car mechanics don’t charge you if you wear a low-cut top.
You don’t have to pee out in the open.
You are not expected to pee in a dirty restroom.
You never have to decide which way to turn a nut or a bolt.
You are never expected to do the same amount of work as a man.
You have all types of stuff to cover up and hide wrinkles.
Your parents pay for your wedding dress. The tux costs big bucks for a miserable few hours of use.
People care more about how you look than what you say.
You get new shoes with each outfit.
You are allowed to show different moods throughout the month.
You can talk on the phone as long as you like.
Your not expected to know anything about tanks.
When you go on vacation someone else carries your bags.
Someone else always opens jars for you.
You can get anything you want by just flipping your rear.
If someone forgets to invite you to a party, you can hold it over them for ever.
Your underwear can be hidden anywhere.
You never have to wear the same pair of shoes twice in a row.
You never have to adjust the family jewels in public and never have to pee or spit for distance.
You have so many outfits, if one is wrinkled, you just grab another one.
You can change the color of your face from day to day and no one notices.
You get pampered like a queen once a week at the hair salon.
You shave only those places that attract the opposite sex.
You have your own toys which you don’t share with anyone.
You can wear any color at any time you like.
You get special attention if you wear the right type of shorts.
You don’t have to do your own nails.
You can change your hair style at any time you like.
Christmas shopping is an aphrodisiac.

Women should be happier people.

It amazes me how much "control" we men yield to American women to "save the marriage."  I keep being asked by women why I'm not married. Women don't realize how easy it is to be replaced. I get peace and quite at home and still have companionship on my terms. Next thought: I thought "senor" referred to a senior citizen. :-P

A couple nights ago I was taking pictures of the moon using a tripod and self timer. I set the manual focus on infinity. In all my photos the moon was out of focus. I haven't had a chance to investigate as it's been cloudy each night since. I suspect I went "beyond infinity". Is this possible. I shoot with a D80.

Most optical devices “go beyond infinity” as related to the mechanical adjusting mechanism (lens element spacing and movement) to allow for manufacturing tolerances, environment and use (wear) factors. Look at the moon with your binoculars. You should be able to see the effect as you adjust toward infinity for focus. If you keep going in that direction until you hit the stop, it probably will defocus slightly as the spacing of the lenses goes “ beyond infinity”! It’s a mechanical/lens convergence thing!

Isn’t the simple answer: “The apparent focal length of some zoom lenses is different when the lens is focused on an object at infinity as compared to what it is when focused on an object at close range. “
