OK, now that we know, I helped the OP out by suggesting that he call Nikon customer technical support. Did you make a suggestion? What was it? And finally, do you know how to read? because if you did, you would have seen my suggestion in my response to him. What is wrong with you people, have you nothing better to do than badger folks who are truly trying to help. Please Go away.

I have a DA question (dumb ass) about the average battery life of the Nikon D850 using live view most of the time. Approximately how many shots should I get before the battery goes dead?
Thank you for any input.

Personally, I would try it out, it varies so much, is the battery freshly charged, what are the weather conditions.
And, you can always call Nikon customer service technical support and I am sure someone there will know the answer.
It may also be in your instruction manual, look in the index under the battery section.

After 3 weeks, Nikon returned my camera (D7500) all repaired, except . . .

When I press the shutter half way, I expect to see settings displayed on the monitor. I'd also like to see the photo after taking a photo. (Image Review is ON)

Neither is happening. Do I need send this back or is there some setting I can't seem to find.

The original problem (after dropping the camera) was 'ERR' on the monitor all the time.

Thanks.

I believe, you have a warranty period on their repairs, if it is still under warranty, call them, explain the problem over the phone, stay calm and professional, them them that, in your opinion, it still needs serviced and why would Nikon send it to you this way.

I have a new ( a month old) Panasonic Lumix ZS200 and when I turn on the camera the shutter cover only slides open about half to three fourths open. Is there a fix or something I can try before I send in for repair.

Those are plastic lens cover sleeves, sometimes two three or four separate sleeves. Do not try to add anything to make them slide better (like a lubricant) IT WILL MAKE IT WORSE, trust me on this.
You can either send it back to Panasonic (if under warranty), otherwise the cure is to remove them with a pair of pliers (yes, it works) you will not longer have a lens cover but your problem is fixed.

Has anyone ever sold your photo entry at the County Fair? This year anyone who enters their photo into the judging competition has the option to sell it. The Fair gets a 15% commission.
I'm entering several framed and matted 11 x14 photos that have gotten very positive comments from friends and family. I have no idea what to charge and any thoughts, or sharing previous experiences will be welcomed.

Cost plus the price of a bear.
If you want to stay legal, charge sales tax, Oh, get a vendors license from your state and then pay your sales tax to the state when it comes time. Don't forget to claim all profits, if you make any, on your state and federal tax return.

I am an amateur learn-as-I-go hobbyist. I use a Sony a6000 and am fairly comfortable with its basic features. I am renting a Sony a6500 body as a second camera for a big trip to Alaska. I won’t have much time to get familiar with it so can anyone give me some tips to help me out? Major differences to be aware of? Tricks? I’ve read lots of comparisons, know about the touch screen and that the menu may be simpler/different. (A Sony a6000 was not available for rent.). Also renting Sigma 100-400 with MC-11 adapter. Not sure which body I’ll put that on. Just have the two kit lenses otherwise. Hope to minimize lens changing). I will have a tripod/monopod but want to experience Alaska, not just see it through a camera lens. Taking several se cards and a portable hard-drive. We are doing a driving trip on our own, not a cruise. Denali, glacier hikes, kayaking, bears! Thanks.

Make sure to hold the lens just behind the lens hood as this combo tends to be lens heavy, so you want to help balance the combo by holding the lens toward the front. Keep you elbows into your body and learn to breath and trip the shutter on the exhale. Nice and smooth, do not jab at the shutter release.

I am often disappointed when I get my prints back from Adorama or Shutterfly. They seem too dark and really don’t look at all like what I see on my computer screen. Should I over expose b/f I send them off? If so how much? What is a good finish to order to make the shots brighter? I have a really nice shot of the Florence Duomo at twilight that just came back from the printer too dark ( but looks great on a computer screen) and I’d really like to display it on a wall so I need to have it redone and I am looking for suggestions as to how to get the printed shot closer to the screen image. Suggestions welcome and appreciated!

I use shutterfly all the time to make books for my children at Christmas. I let them adjust whatever they like and the shots come out great.

Hello all,

Going to Italy this summer with family and wondering which new lens I should get. The lens are between:

Tamron 18-400mm f/3.5-6.3 Di II VC HLD Lens for Nikon F
Tamron SP 70-200mm f/2.8 Di VC USD G2 Lens for Nikon F

I have a Nikon D7200 and 2 kits lens but was looking to upgrade to better lens for the trip.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. If you ask no I am not what part of Italy we are going, the wife and sister in law did all the planning. LOL

Thanks,

In my opinion, and since your asking for advice, both lenses IMHO are too heavy and you are due for shoulder surgery when you return to the states.
My favorite travel lens for my D7200 (when I owned one) was the very good, very sharp, much lighter than your two picks, Nikon 18-200 VR II. The ideal travel lens, keep it on your camera and enjoy your trip, and return with great pictures and a good shoulder.

Never criticized, you should learn to read, I gave him the best SUGGESTION, I advised him to notify Nikon. I have, in the past, given him the number for Nikon. What SUGGESTION did you give him?
Be very careful to read an entire response before YOU CRITICIZE in the future.

The 80-400 seems overall to be the “go-to” lens for many.

The 80-400 is an older design than the Nikon 200-500. The 200-500 has an electronic aperture that assures constant exposures when shooting in continuous motor drive. I own a D850 with the 18c battery that gives me 9 frames a second and my D500 at 10 frames a second. All my exposures are dead on with the 200-500. The 80-400 does not have this feature and exposures at 10 frames a second are NOT consistent. Also, I have found the 80-400 soft at 400. Not an issue with the 200-500.

Same with mirrorless camera's.
