Cleveland, The total was pretty much covered by clouds. The period between umbra and penumbra on the backside popped through the clouds every so often.

When you stack picture (using PS CC you get the alignment too. ACR also does stacking but I am not sure if you can mask anything... (I by-pass ACR altogether)

Thank you, that makes more sense to me. I didn't see that they were stacking. I just thought they put each photo in a separate layer and then did the appropriate opacity changes.

Getting back to the Multi Shot NR. I google it and definitely want to try this out with PS CC. The procedure looks very easy but I don't see any alignment of the individual photos going on in any of the procedures. Wouldn't this be necessary?? I would think without alignment even the slightest variation between pictures would show up us blur. I haven't tried this but lets say I shot off 5 shots on a tripod in burst mode, wouldn't there be slight variation just from the shutter movement???

LOL! Thanks!:):) I guess all work and no play, makes for a long day! But Jack and I are pretty much die hards at being there all day.:) We BS about as much as we shoot.:) Are you a Vet for animals? If so get ready for a few questions.:):) And if you are Vet Vet, get ready for a lot of BS.:)

Nope on the Veteran, too young for the Vietnam conflict; thus I will field any questions on animals anyone left has.

OR! We could meet at my house. I could get the grass mowed, flower beds weeded and my truck washed and waxed!!!! And take pictures of how beautiful it looks. Then we would be ready to go after that.???

This will work out well. I will get there after all the work is done!!! Seriously, I has planning to get over to CVNP to shoot one or more of the falls after the leaves change so I might as well make it that afternoon and meet any folks that stay later!!

catfish,
I have in set up menu Virtual Horizon -- //push OK and get the horizon picture. There is no way to change it anyway

I knew about f3 Assign Prev btn ->Press-> but there is
1. Viewfinder virtual Horizon
2. MY MENU
3. Accesstop item in MY MENU
4. Playback
5. None

Before I had none, but I still got a horizon
today I did not.....BUT , there is no item for Preview

REVET - can you please check this on your camera? It does not work on live view either....I believe

Than you Miro
catfish, br I have in set up menu Virtual Horizon... (show quote)

I checked and no it doesn't work in live view. It does work regardless if I push the exposure button down halfway or not. When you go to the f3 assign preview button, make sure you have the Press + command dials set to OFF. Then select the Press option above that and select the first option (preview). If that doesn't do it, I don't know how to help.

And I thought my last(previous) question was the last one. NO!
I need a little help - I have Nikon 7100 & Tamron 16-300. Set to manual mode , AF on cam & AF on lens F5.6 up to 22

I push 1/2 way the trigger to focus and then push the Pv button { camera front left side top}
on Custom menu I tried g2 as None

When I push the Preview Btn - Pv (Depth of field) I would expect the view finder to go dark and see the range of the focused distance. IT DOES NOT WORK

Does anybody know where I made Ouups ?
Thank you Miro
And I thought my last(previous) question was the l... (show quote)

Do you have the preview button set for DOF in the menu??? I have a D7100, you don't need to push the exposure button 1/2 way down to use preview. I rarely use it though because it is so dark I really can't see any depth of field differences. Live view might be better.
