This is very good Kenie. You say you will be printing this, I'd like to suggest you open it up a little bit. I've found and others that the printing process is always a little darker. I don't think you would want that to happen.
I took the liberty to try my hand at opening up the darks and adding a small amount to the whites. I wanted to try and see if I could notice there was water and see the reflections in the water without making things go grey. I kept your sky just as it was, a great asset to the picture. Attached is the results. If you like it and want to see exactly how I did it I will get you the Photoshop file with the layers.

Jim I really appreciate it. I would like to see what you did. I recently bought a printer and I have little to no experience printing myself. I usually send them to my local camera shop and that can get expensive if you have to reprint it because of issues like you mentioned, especially with a custom size. You are always very generous with your knowledge and expertise. Thanks!

That is a truly amazing B&W rendering. Ansel would be proud of you, for sure. It takes a good capture to be able to render that well. Kudos. Please stay well and keep on sharing.

Thank you so much. As I learn more about post processing it is fun to go back and rework older photos.

Without you mentioning it was a fork you photographed I would never had suspected it. I’ve thinking outside the box. As for your family life good to hear getting back to normal.

Thank you Frank. I have been focusing more on the technical aspects of post processing and not so much on the creative side. It felt good to to explore on this one.

In a recent photo challenge the subject was Fork. I decided to try out my macro tube on my new 35mm lens on a kitchen fork. A few texture layers later this is the results.

I haven't been able to post much the last couple of months and I do miss you all. My wife fell and broke her knee so things have been a little hectic here on the home front playing caregiver. She is back up and walking without assistance now so hopefully I have a little more time. I hope you are all doing well and able to get out and enjoy our hobby, safely, as much as you can in these strange times.

I took this almost two years ago and decided to go back and rework it in B&W. I'm glad I did. I like it much better this time around. I think I will print this one.

I think I have read that book. A dystopian medieval future rural society living on a distant green planet on the brink of war.

I really like the fairy. How about this?

That's great! It's a beautiful fairy and it deserves to be seen.

Jack, loved what you did for the most part but I don't know about the fairy. Even though I knew there should be one in the image it took me awhile to find it. It is very easy to overlook up there in the corner. As it is I would not include it. Maybe make it not so subtle and closer to the birds?
