I have a PIXMA PRO-10. I like it a lot. I only use it for photos and have a canon all in one for other printing. It uses 10 pigment inks and applies a clear coat.

It is a smartphone so it relies on cell towers and a limited battery. Seeing as I like to go ‘where no person has gone before’, I doubt a cell phone will take over the DSLR market. On my last trip, I was out of range for 3 weeks. Not a cell tower/phone in sight.

Throwing in my 2c. Canon cameras are made at the Oita facility in Japan. Nikon cameras are made in factory in Ayuthaya in Thailand. So much for tariffs from China.
I’m not sure why there seems to be a thought that life ends at 65. I figure I probably have a good 25 years to enjoy my new 5D Mark IV. All my relatives lived well into their nineties except for my grandmother who was hit by a pick up truck at 89.
Red River paper. You can buy 2 types of sample boxes. Great selection/ prices/ delivery.
Love the tulips. And welcome.
Check out camerastuffreview.com for an article on the 800D. Lists best lenses for your camera. The It has anAPS-C sensor
I use Red River-various papers but love the metallic. They sell a couple of different sample boxes for a really good price. They Give you samples of each of their papers. I use a Canon Pro 10 printer and I really like it. I also have an all in one Canon in case someone other than me wants to print a photo. I also have many packages of Canon papers. I never print on any kind of glossy paper. I have not sent out to have any printing done since 2007.
Thank you for your comments. Going to try and run Affinity again on the weekend. If it does freeze-I will contact Affinity and then Apple. Since nothing else freezes on my iMac, I am not sure it is the iMac. Cheers!
Thank you for this comment. No one has the right to belittle another’s attempt at sharing something that gave them joy. Belittling is cruelty for the sake of harming another emotionally.
I used Photoshop for quite a few years-but a brand new Mac refused to run the old software. So I now use; FX Studio, Aurora HDR; Luminar; Anthropics software; Photolemur. All work really well on my Mac. So when I heard about Affinity, I was excited. I checked system requirements, app recommended for my iMac (2017) and bought the software. Bang! Froze up my computer. Had to manually shut down. It has been years since software has frozen my computer. So now, I have to figure out that problem before I work on some photos. Any out there have any ideas for me?
My photography instructor took the picture of Mt Rainier looking like it was floating in the sky above a cloud. Cover page of National Geographic. She used a Canon camera with a
Canon EF 400mm 2.8 L lens w/tripod. Sat outside for 3 days and finally got the shot. Simply submitted her shot as is. She doesn’t expect to ever get a shot like that again
Welcome. This is a great forum to learn and share
I started with the AE- 1. Have all the bells and whistles and lenses that went with it! Had my own dark room and a color processor. Camera still works but getting film is difficult where I live. Finally bought a little Canon S80 in 2006. Loved all it could do. Then I bit the bullet and bought the 50D and just picked up the 5D MIV. Never used a Nikon but many people swear by them. This is a great forum-so many with good advice. Welcome.
