Hi Samantha. Thank you for the list. The various "Truths" hit home on so many different levels. They brought many smiles.

One thing from this ole Coot. Pick your grandparents minds while you can. In later years you will wish you had, I whish I had.

For all you all you "older" folks on the forum, keep the faith, time marches on. 91 tomorrow

Almost forgot, the very best to your and your "intended" in the many years to come. My bride and I celebrate our 59th next month.

AzYooper said it in spades. B&H, MPB, and KEH are great people to deal with and have very competitive prices. If your present deal falls thru, give them a look. I have had several purchases/trades with them and never had a problem.

In the past two weeks I have received ten emails supposedly from Norton titled "Security Alert" telling me my computer is in danger and my subscription needs to be renewed.

During the same time I have received nine emails from McAfee that is my final notice and that my account needs to be renewed.

However, I don't use either service, never have used McAfee and haven't used Norton in the past ten years.

Not only do the "From" addresses look suspicious, the "To" addresses are not either my name or email address, but a long series of letters and numbers.

The two I opened to check the above offered really "good deals" and all I had to do is "click" on the "links". Yeh, right!!!

Just thought I would mention a different, and continuing approach. Best be careful.

I am not familiar with 107 but hold a commercial SE/ME with instrument rating. Why do you need a course? Is the reg so onerous that you cannot just read the regs and take the test or does the reg require a course?
Thanks,

Dasve, I read just today, that if you have at least a Part 61 (Private Pilot) ticket, and are Current, you don't need a Part 107 license.

You certainly qualify with your licenses.

Great deep thoughts. I would have answered sooner but there was so much to ponder.

Great pictures. Glad you decided to do the landings too. Number seven calls for the LSB (Landing Signal Bird) saying "Wave off, go around".

I vote for number 1 and 8. However they are all pretty darn good.

I once had a recorder that used wire to record instead of tape. Worked pretty good. I wish I knew what happened to it

I too, had a wire recorder back in the early 50s. Did a good of recording. However, no editing as the wire speed sped up as the take-up reel got more wire on it.

Waaaay back, when I was in the third and fourth grade our music teacher had our band performance recorded. It was cut on an aluminum disc and you had to use a fiber needle for a pickup. The sound was terrible.

To my knowledge, the only exception to this is WOAI in San Anatonio, TX

You might also add WFAA in Dallas, TX.

Bob Saget bumped his head and thought nothing of it. He went to bed and never woke up. Comedian Steve Allen was in a minor traffic accident and bumped his head. He died shortly afterwards. These are not isolated examples.

If you bump your head, go to the ER. Maybe you'll be okay if you don't, but maybe you'll be dead.

I was lucky. Several days before Christmas 2020 I just finished putting lights around the trunk of a tree in our front yard using a step ladder. On the way down I miscounted the steps and stepped off the second step instead of the last step. I fell backwards and my head hit the ground. The ground won.

I got up and went about my business. Had a Merry Christmas.

On the 27th of December at breakfast my speech became slurred and I couldn't hold my fork. My wife called 911 and before I knew it I was in St. David hospital in Austin. Actually, I didn't know it. The diagnosis was a Brain Bleed.

On the first of January I was transferred to St. David Rehab Center, just across the alley. There I did all sorts of fun things with buttons, colored blocks, etc, and spent a lot of time learning to keep my balance and walk. Thankfully it didn't affect my speach.

That lasted until January 15, when I got to come home, followed by two months of home rehab. Now I'm, say, about 95 percent back to where I was before my misstep.

The moral to this story, if you go up four steps on a ladder, be sure to count them on the way down.

If I'm in a tourist area and someone or a group wants a cell phone picture then they aren't looking for portraiture, they're looking for a memory. I spend a minute or two and I always, always get a warm and grateful response. If I see a family and one parent is taking a photo of the family with a great background I'll offer to take the photo so they can all be in the picture. It's just common courtesy. It doesn't cost me anything and they have a photo to keep. I don't understand how that could be a problem. If they are asking for a professional service for free then that's a whole different issue and it can be educational to help them get over their sense of entitlement.

Back in the 80s I was on a business trip to Germany and staying in an old castle that had been converted to a hotel. I took a walk to take pictures, etc, and saw a couple taking pictures of each other. I offered to take one of them together and they were delighted. We talked, or rather he and I talked, she didn't speak English. Found out they hit a fox on the Autobahn and had a layover while their car was fixed. We swapped home towns, they were from Frankfurt, and I mentioned Lampasas, a hundred or so miles from Dallas. At that her eyes lite up and she said "ah, Da lass". Even then and there she knew about the TV show Dallas and "who shot JR". A nice visit and they had a picture of them together , we had a nice visit, and it didn't cost either of us anything except the time.

Hey Ron, nothing more beautiful than a field of Bluebonnets, unless it's a field of Bluebonnets and three great looking horses. However with the temperature here in Lampasas sitting at 16 degrees F it may be a bit before we see fields like the two above. Beautiful pictures, thanks for sharing.
