To view 4k resolution on a 4k monitor, you need a graphics card capable of 4k output. Otherwise, the 4k monitor will give you the max output of the graphics card in your laptop. Yes, 4k resolution goes give a better view of 24 megapixel photographs, but only if you have a 4k Graphics card, which I doubt you have in your laptop. When I added a 4k monitor to my desktop, I had to buy a graphics card capable of 4k output, which cost, at the time, about 500 USD. For your 4k monitor to work with your laptop, you would need a new graphics card, if that is even possible. In most cases the graphics electronics are built into the motherboard, so basically you are screwed unless you buy a laptop with a 4k screen which would have 6k graphics output availability.

I use my Epson 2550 for printing 4 x6 snapshots and it works fine.
The ink lasts forever. I also use it to print holiday cards that have a photograph on textured card stock.
That works very well and I save $500 per year on ink over the cartridge printers.

It is just like millennials going back to records from CDs and mp3s.
Everything old is new again.

You should print directly on the card. Before I could do that I pasted photos on the card using a box, spray adhesive and a jig to center the pictures on the cards. Printing directly on the card works great.

If you are looking for high quality cards, Strathmore makes great cards. These are art cards with textured finishes, not photo paper. Envelopes are included. Check out Cheap Joe's. They have great sales and sometimes cards can be purchased at a deep discount to retail outlets, especially if you buy in bulk.

I print holiday cards every year. It depends on what software you use. I have used Corel Draw for nearly 20 years. I can set the paper size, center the photo in the bottom half of the card and then print the card perfectly. I turn them over and use a similar technique to print the greeting.
I think you could probably accomplish the same with Adobe Lightroom and/ or Photoshop.
To save tons of money in ink, I use an Epson eco tank printer. The quality is fine, especially because I print on card stock.

If you know what photos you took prior to the grad photos, find them and the look at the last file name in the sequence. Your grad pictures should start with the next file number of something thereafter. Use the entire file name, increasing the number by a few digits and then do a global search of your computer hard drive. That will usually find the location of the missing photos if they are on your hard drive.

What are we here for? No question is stupid. Some people want the opinion of other experienced photographers who have used the equipment or studied it. Chill out.

Actually, there are both negative and positive diopter setting, for both nearsightedness and farsightedness. Before there was an adjustment on the viewfinder, I bought little lenses that attached to the eyepiece. You could choose the strength.

The diopter takes the place of your contact lens or glasses. That's it.
