Going to London/Rome ins May then a cruise. Anyone suggest the best lenses? Have a 70/200 but it's too heavy, 18-135, 50, 28-300. Any suggestions on best things to shoot?
I've been to Rome recently and had an 18mm F1.8, 20-60mm F3.5-5.6 and a 24-105 mm F4.
I also took an 85mm F1.8 for portraits, which I used little.
24-105 mm F4 - 47%
18 mm F1.8 - 32%
20-60 mm F 3.5-5.6 - 16%
85 mm F 1.8 - 2%
Continuing my series about my vacation to Europe, here is Milan or Milano in Italian.
I didn't stay long (a day only) because I still had to visit other cities in Italy and had already been to Milan 25 years ago.
As always, all pictures were taken with Panasonic S1R/18 mm F1.8 and S5/24-105mm,F4.

Any thoughts on leveling your horizons when using either of these digital editors?
I did when it looked ok, LR tends to not be leveled sometimes.
I think all DXO is corrected horizontally And vertically, I don’t have my computer with me but I’ll update later.
Although I'm a LR guy, why not try DXO PL for 30 days?
The new DXO PL has a processing called "DXO PL Elite" which is like the Auto processing in LR on steroids!
So I processed 4 images so you can compare. The pictures taken using either a Fuji XT-3 fitted with a manual Artisan 12 mm F 2.8 Mark II or a Canon R-10 fitted with a Canon EF-S 10-22 mm F 3.5-4.5.
The RAW images were imported by LR and then processed in LR and DXO PL.
I did not do much processing, most of the times using the Auto processing in LR and the equivalent processing in DXO PL (or the aforementioned Elite processing).
Disclaimer, you can images make look the same on both looks but my objective was relying on light processing which one looks better. Images were exported to JPEG using an 80% Quality.
To me both do the job, you have to decide which one fits better on your workflow.
Enough talk on to the pictures!

In spite of living in Miami for 23 years, this was my first visit to Little Havana!
I took the new Canon R-10 and using the Canon adapter, a Canon EF-S 10-20mm f 3.5-4.5.
Enjoy!

I got the new Canon R-10 and the Canon RF 100-400 and tried to see if it is a viable low cost to bird and wildlife photography.
I'll let you be the judge, watch the video at
https://youtu.be/2rFdktlla4o for more photos & video
...
I'll give you my take on it anyway, the camera is very good for the price , however it is also very noisy specially darker scenes, it is true that none of the lenses are fast lenses but the censor seems to have problems with low light.
It was quite some work get these pictures in good shape, I had to do a lot of post processing.
But again considering the relatively low cost, this is a good option for a bird or wildlife photographer, the auto focus is excellent.
Comparing to the R6 I had for about a year and a half, the R6 is better for bird photography, it is much faster and it has more resources; however the price difference does not justify i.m.h.o unless you are a pro.
Enjoy the pictures and thanks
Pretty impressive but it took me many tries and a little bit of luck!
A busy shot but I liked it
The camera and I struggled to get a decent shot
I love this shot, a Great Blue Heron "bombs" my shot!
The color is as always with the Canon is very good

Green Heron, a lot of detail from the new sensor
Good dynamic recovery, I pushed to the right, the Snowy Egret looks fine to me
Now we move one on to the Italian side of Switzerland, Lugano; another beautiful city, the hotel was excellent and had some breathtaking scenery!
Again all shots were taken with the Panasonic S5 and S1R, the S5 with the 24-105mm F4 and the S1R with the 18mm F1.8. Some shots were from the iPhone 11.

This trip by train between St Moritz and Belinzona is part of the The Albula-Bernina line, a World Heritage site

I went on a 2 week trip to Europe with my 23 old son just because of that! My wife and daughter stayed because they both had prior commitments but off I went.
It was great and although I'm in my mid 50's I do have a progressive disabilitating disease so I'm trying to do what I still can.
Take care,

Nice, but why were the tops of the buildings cut off at the very top?
Tilt up just a fraction and get the whole thing in.
yes that is because I corrected the horizon, sometimes I forgot to leave space for the horizon correction.
Take care,
All the pictures were taken with the Panasonic S5 and S1R.
