Not really as that means more trees will need to be cut down to supply the paper and trees remove CO2 from the air... Better to use reusable fabric bags... Our local Aldi stores sell bags if needed and they set out (as does Sam's) the empty boxes that the goods come in for people to reuse...

I don't completely agree.

A paper bag is not a single-use item. They can and should be used over and over again. When I shop at the commissary, they give me paper bags. After they are emptied, I collapse them down and keep them for the next trip and the next trip and the next trip, etc. I've probably used the same bags dozens of times. I use them at Aldis and any other grocery store that I patronize also. And when they do give up, usually from getting wet, they go into my recycling bin.

I also have been told that Publix Supermarkets will stop using plastic bags in the near future. I have not verified that, but I sure hope it's true and that others followsuit.

When trying to use manual focus with D7200 the shots are inevitably soft. In the old days we had split image focusing screens that helped us compensate for poor vision. How do you that have less than optimum vision accomplish sharp focus in manual?

Have you adjusted the viewfinder so that when looking through it the information at the bottom is clear? If that doesn't give you enough correction, eyepiece correction lenses are available from Nikon.

I wonder also, why you prefer manual over automatic focus. In most situations, I don't believe I can focus as quickly or as accurately as my camera.

Can you post some of the unsatisfactory photos (clicking the store original box and leaving EXIF data attached)?

Madman, I agree with you wholeheartedly, except many of my photos are late in the day. This is why I would like more light. Keep 'shooting'!

I would upgrade my camera to one less noisy at higher ISOs before I would restrict my shutter speed or depth of field. I shoot at ISO 6400 fairly often.

I am curious. Can a Tamron 150-600mm be converted by removing the adapter from a Nikon and be replaced with a Canon adapter or vice versa or is the connection permanent?

Not something I would attempt - the cost of a used or refurbished lens doesn't justify (imho) the time or effort.

I have the earlier version for Canon and it's the lens I use the most - 90% - of my time. I'm an amateur nature photographer and have shot bobcat, birds, bighorn, deer and many more along with landscapes in nature preserves. I really appreciate this lens - with the only exception it's lens is a f6.5. I am 80 and the lens is a bit heavy to carry, but I still carry it where ever we go.

My use is much like yours - wildlife and birds. The fact that the lens is not faster does not bother me at all - I wouldn't shoot with a larger aperture even if I could. I'm in my 70's and I too would like a lighter lens although I wouldn't settle for one that was not as rugged.

I have this same lens for Nikon but I have the G2 series. I presume that the G2 series is a later version. I really like this lens. Just wish I could get out more and use it.

I now have the Generation 2 (G2) also, yes it is the later model with some improvements. I liked the original, and I like new and improved version as well.

I am selling my original series 150-600mm zoom as I have purchased the later version.

This lens was carefully used and is in like-new condition. However, so that it's new owner would have the utmost confidence in it, I sent it off to Tamron for a Clean and Check.

Asking $700 + shipping from Florida.

Glad to see your posting.

I am considering getting another body. Full Frame would be nice, and lighter weight would be miraculous.

Please continue to post your results and evaluations.

I have a Epson Artisan 1430 printer, you can't get them in a bundled package that I can find, has anyone used the refurbished cartridge do they ruin your printer? know of a good place to get the ink?

I use the Epson Stylus Photo 1400 which preceded your 1430. I bought a set of refillable cartridges, four ounce bottles of each color ink and syringes to refill the cartridges, total cost about $75.00. I've been extremely pleased with the results.

This was just over four years ago - I'm going to need to re-order very soon. The supplier is Cobra Ink in Cookeville, Tennesee (www.cobraink.com).

I would suggest that you check them out.

Marvelous photos -love the background effect from the cards. I've used colored file folders to achieve a similar effect.

Sorry that we won't see you this year.

Cheers!
