Sometimes I type so fast the computer can't keep up. Is that believable, or should I make up another excuse?
My grandfather used to say, "A poor excuse is better than none!"

Ha! That's fun! Just like me, I like to see my odometer in my car turn over to exactly 10,000 miles or any other cool number. Does anyone else do that?

I thought I was the only strange one! I have a photograph of my truck's odometer, showing 123,456.7 miles...
Nice that there are other inmates in the asylum!

Well written, thank you! I'm new to photography, but spent many years teaching technical school and working as a proofreader, and the lessons learned there are engraved in my psyche!

One thing I have seen a lot in UHH posts is the use of "photo's" to mean a plural of photo. Some people do it for other words as well, but mostly just the word photo. That just strikes me as odd.

Does not the apostrophe designate "possession", where the simple plural would simply add the letter "S" without the apostrophe? Thus to simply write "photos" would indicate a plurality, and "photo's" would indicate a possession of "photo", as in "the photo's frame", or "the photo's background".

No matter what "they" say, P. E. T. A. stands for PEOPLE EATING TASTY ANIMALS.

I too learned on a manual, an old Ford Comet? Maybe? Had the iconic "three in the tree". I would like to see any of the younger generation manipulate one of those!

My brother used to have a 40s vintage tow truck, with THREE levers "on the hump", one of which was a two-speed REVERSE! Was a GM truck, with a HUGE 6-cylinder gasoline engine!

I love Boentgru's comment about anti-theft device. I learned how to drive on a manual transmission. In Massachusetts, if you didn't have a license for a manual transmission, you couldn't legally drive one. Everyone learned how to drive manual in those days.

Used to be that way in California, too, but by the time I got my license (1965) that portion of the law had been rescinded. I had learn stick anyway, on the tractor at a neighbor's farm.
Humor for the day!! Enjoy!!

The Stolen Car a magnificent 1956 Chevrolet convertible

I had two of those, years ago. Of course, back then they were not "classics", but simply "used cars"!

I have only a cellphone. When a call comes in, the caller is displayed. If no name, only a number, I do not answer. If Caller-ID on a wired phone displays a number I don't know, I DON'T ANSWER. Was heavy volume of calls at first, but now down to about one a day. For a land-line phone, hook up a recorder and let THAT answer! If it's a robo, it usually hangs up.

I use a Wacom, but only to record notes and corrections on sheet music. I'm no artist!

I still have two K1000s, and a Sears/Pentax. Haven't used them in years, but loved them. They were the entry-level 35mm, and they got a lot of use! To get back into hobby photography, a got a used K10D, which is the entry-level digital that can accept the same lenses that worked so well on the K1000s, just have to manual-focus and aperture on the old lenses. Auto-focus works well on the new lenses.

I got into photography in early 60s. I started out using a Pentax ME. I liked SLR Cameron's but it is now just about impossible to get 35 mm film. I have about 15 different lenses for my camera ranging from 28mm to a 1500mm. Would say a have a lot of money in lenses. Is there a DSLR camera that I can use my current lenses? Or do I have a expensive paperweight?

I used to shoot with three Pentax K1000, and have a few lenses. Since the K1000 is an entry-level camera, when I decided to get into digital photoraphy, I found on Ebay, I got a good buy on a slightly-used K10D, which is the digital entry-level. Most Pentax cameras will fit the same lenses, so my 200 and 500 mm lenses fit. Of course, the auto-focus doesn't work on the old lenses, but manual works just fine.
