I'm sure I am not alone as one who is inundated with the nuisance robocalls. I am on the verge of declaring victory over theses scumbags. About a week ago I became "Big Joe's Fishbait and BBQ Emporium" in answering these easily id'd calls. The phone rings, I pick it up and answer using that phrase, and ad, "if younwant bbq, that takes a little longer, 'cause I have to wash up the fishbait befo I make the Q." Click. I guess my caller is uninterested in bbq or fishbait!!!

Thats all well and good, however, my wife and I keep getting robocalls and a recorded message telling us we stayed at one of their resorts and if we remain on the line a live person will come on to advise us of the reward, OR, there is an issue with our account, just stay on the line so they they can have an operator assist us in clearing it up.
Usually it hits my wife's number, then within 5 minute it hits my cell number. Heather sounds like a very nice girl, but she is lying when she says we stayed at one of their resorts or booked a cruise recently with them. :D
They also get tricky with changing the number reportedly dialed from, so it is a local area code and a different number each time, so more difficult to ID/block.
Any suggestion?

At requires ph svc providers to become proactive.
Any suggestion?

Not much can be done until Congress passes a law that forces ph svc providers to become proactive. And that isn't likely to occur.

I use the below site thru Spectrum on our landline and it works very well.
http://www.nomorobo.com/The calls that get thru go to voice mail. We will call back if we want to.

I think. The nomorebrobo web site was posted earlier. Will look into that.

My provider does not use it so I'm out of luck.
We have a caller ID display and don't answer calls that we don't recognize. Not a problem.

Yep, I use it also on land line, robo calls get one ringydingy and gone!
They do have an app for cellphones, might look into it
BTW - setting DND on my iPhone will limit calls to only numbers in my contact list, so that sledgehammer will work!
My dad loves messing with telemarketers. He'll string them along for as long as possible before telling them to get lost. He turns it into a game for his own amusement.

He'd be bored at my house because most of the calls are robo or number verification (Ensures a working number that was answered and becomes part of a salable list to other marketeers.)

If I don't know the name or number of the caller ID I don't answer - if its a personal call I'll get a message - it isn't I won't.

Get the CPR 5000 call blocker. It costs $100, but it actually blocks those calls.

The Iphone has a good call block system and it is easy. Works great
I had one of those calls in which there was one of those delays (due to them making multiple simaltaneous calls). I got pissed about the delay and started SCREAMING into the phone. Well the schlub picked up and had his ear blasted. LOL. He called me EVERY cuss word in the book and I gave it right back to him. Haven't heard from him since.
