I especially like the last one.

I took an Adult School photography class where Photoshop Elements ( I think it was Elements 5 at the time) was used. The class helped a lot with my learning curve and I've been satisfied with the product. By the way, there's no need to buy every single version of the program whenever it comes out.

Thank you for explaining, Rocky. It sounds like a useful DIY project.

What an amazing glance into history. Some of the photos look hand-colored, some, I just don't know.

Beautiful picture! I find that the neon looks best when it's not crazy busy in he picture. I think the plastic wrap is interesting and played with it because it allowed me to define lines on the flowers that I felt were a little too soft. Then I just kept clicking in the gallery. I think it has potential especially when used with layers if other effects.

Thanks, Dori. You are definitely onto something about neon working well in a photo that isn't busy - I like to use it on fruit, flowers, and vegetables.

The plastic wrap one is very pretty, but my favorite is the neon, because I love to play around with those, too!

I have been using PSE since vs 3. But I, too, don't jump at buying every vs. Adobe issues a new vs just about once a year. So, I created my own rule: I buy every other vs. I'm on the "odd" cycle with vs11, so I'll most likely get vs13. An exception would be if reports indicate the next version (even numbered vs in my case) has significantly improved/many new features. So far, that has not happened.

This is my way of saving a few bucks.

That's exactly how I've been handling it! I like 11 and I am still getting accustomed to it.

I'm embarrassed to say that I dropped my camera recently, so I'm definitely looking.

The dark greens in picture 1 make it special.

I don't see any need to dump the other programs. Enjoy Lightroom.

I have tried the demo version and found it to be pretty user-friendly. I consider it another worthy tool in my toolbox.
