Does the so-called Mirrorless EVF advantage matter at all - that is assuming you haven't totally blown your settings - If you are shooting in raw????

Then, I guess you'd like a Mirrorless body as they are the only ones which let you see in real time, while the DLSR blacks out when the mirror moves so the shutter can fire. When using a mirrorless, the viewfinder doesn't black out during a shot(s), so you can actually see what you've got. Quite a thrill! Best of luck.

What an obnoxious fellow you are

Imagine your life as a successful photographer. Does your camera still have a mirror?

I'm an amateur photographer and have the snapshots & mirrors to prove it

Please, it's more than newer, bigger, stronger sensors.

It's also the newest, biggest, strongest processors.
It's also IBIS.
It's also focus assist.
It's also focus peeking.
It's also smaller(ish) size with the removal of space needed for a flapping mirror.
It's also the EVF.
It's also newer and sharper mirrorless lens designs.
It's also adapting legacy SLR lenses from any brand.
It's also no mechanical shutter and bursts in the 30+ per second range.
It's also advanced eye-tracking AF.

You make a point there are advantages -- All I can live without -- As said-- Nothing earthshaking

All great shots.

Been there many times for the bloom over the years.
It is always a crap shoot but I've determined over the years that the best time to go is the last weekend in March.
Past the first weekend in April, it is too hot and the flowers are gone.

Here is my post from a 2015 trip: Annual Death Valley Sojourn
All great shots. img src="https://static.uglyhed... (show quote)

REALLY - Good looking photos -- Will give it a try next year for more flowers & even more lake --
Thanks for your comments

Thanks to all who viewed & made their kind comments -- Haven't used the gear that much since our trip to Egypt last year. Almost forgot what a treat it was to have a bag of lenses on one shoulder & a camera on the other.
Death Valley is one very special place requiring no trips to the AirPort, no passports, and only half a tank of gas away from our home.
One additional bit of info that we picked up from the in-the-know locals: About a week or two before our visit the valley experienced violent wind storms that moved all the lake water from the north end of the valley to the south.

About a week or so ago we visited the Valley in hopes of viewing the Wild Flowers - Not This Year - The in-the-know locals told us that without rain in December no blooms. However, with lots of rain in Jan/Feb & some in March, We did get to see lots of very green Sage Brush & Death Valleys brand new for this year's lake
I hope you enjoy viewing the photos half as much as I did taking them.

Was also my experience with an Alfa Remo Alfetta
The good news at the time they cost far less to buy but about as much to continually fix as a Jag

Great shot
Great lines -- Beautiful car
The only downside and it could only be a rumor was that it often spent more time in the shop than on the road

WhenI was in Grade School, measles was no big deal. It was way before the MMR vaccinations were even thought of.
Typically, Little Johnny would come into class and say to the teacher, "Please Miss, my sister won't be in for a few days, she's got measles". The prevalent attitude was, OK, let's get this over with before the holidays.
So why do we break out the Hazmat suits and go into Level 3 lock-down when someone even whispers the word?
Something must have changed!

I've given this issue considerable thought and have come up with only one honest conclusion
