That is a really classic picture. I looked out at our lower pasture one morning and saw 2 fawns playing, running back and forth. Then I saw what looked like the curved handle of an umbrella moving rapidly back and forth in front of the fawns. The terrain was sloping down so I couldn't see the turkey, only his/her neck, sticking straight up, being chased by the fawns. I assume that if the turkey didn't care to participate it would have just flown into one of the trees bordering the pasture, but it seemed to be having as good a time as the fawns.

Handsome fellow even with the wind sock decoration. I have seen different sorts of animals in some form of what could only be considered play.
A cat trying to spook a fox. A fox trying to play with a pup. Young deer playing with their siblings. They are kinda like people in some ways.
Wish I could see some deer with antlers. All we get are does.
Thanks for looking and for sharing. We get both bucks and does. Sometimes in small herds.

I think he believes he is hidden by the streamers hanging over his face. Hopefully he'll learn how to hide better before the velvet is gone.
Thanks for looking and for commenting. Is that like the children's game: "if I can't see you, you can't see me"?

Wow! Nice catch. Hope your wind sock survives.
Thanks for looking and for the comment. One of the other windsocks didn't survive and had to be replaced.

This deer likes to play with the windsocks in our back yard. I didn't know that deer like to play. Or perhaps this one is unusual.
