Incredible! Was there a tornado or the emd of the world after the photos you took? I am so glad you were safe. I can only assume this as you were able to post the photos. In SoCal we never get clouds thst threatening. All this aside, you took such impressive and inspiring shots. Kudos.

GP2, Sorry, it's 18-300
I have an 80D also. I keep the 18-300 Sigma on about 90% of the time. Works well for me also with a polarizer filter. Tamron also has one in this range. Hope this helps.

The first one...DUCK ON DUCK is fantastic especially for the one on top.
All are great shots, so colorful and vibrant, and the last makes me think of the song from HAIR, I am showing my age..LET THE SUNSHINE IN.
I really need to get back into taking picts like you have taken. Kudos.
We can't beat So. Cal. Thanks so much again

Cany, Magnificent shots especially the shot of the "living quarters under the cliff".
I spent some time there also about 35 years ago. The history of the peoples there also was very intriguing.
Thanks for the shots. Now I'll have to go through my 1000's of slides to find my shots. If I do find them I'll post them, IF they are even close to yours.

Just AWSOME SHOT. Amazing color and subject. I have taken shots at the Alburquere, New Mexico balloon fiesta and they are not as good as your post. I'm jealous.

Dr. NIKON
AWESOME!!! And there are so many words that still do not describe this SUPERLATIVE photo.
I am so jealous for not being there. I live in West LA, I've got to get back to my favorite place in this world and ANY other world.
I wonder if my Canon's could do as well? Oh, I forgot.. It's Not the camera.
It' in the EYE OF THE PHOTOGRAPHER!!
Again thanks.

I have this lens and a Konica T-3. Which I still use to this day. It was the first Shutter Priority camera. It might be worth your while to find a T-3 in good condition fairly cheap.
Of course there is the cost of film and processing. Have fun.

The most wonderful awe inspiring place in the world. Your photos are awe inspiring and gives me the warm fuzzies.
Over the years it only gets better. I wish I could get up there more often. Your pictures helps me go there.
Many many thanks.

Glad to have you aboard. I LOVE my 80D, I have many Canon cameras. AE1 A1 T5i
a couple of sureshots. And 6 lenses. If you hsve an older FD lenses you can get an adpater to the EOS mount from B&H im NYC. It won't work with all the elactronics, but works great on manual. I have a 500mm telephoto f/8 and it works great. The 80D is certainly the most complex. I have read several books and attended a few Canon classes(free). And as the saying goes...practice, practice and experiment. One feature I really like is its ability to shoot multiple shots on a single frame.. up to 10. Sure beats sandwiching in days ofthe old.
Good luck and enjoy you 80D.

This sure opens a huge opinion poll. My first SLR was a KONICA T3. I believe it was the first shutter priority SLR. I still have and use it. Otherwise I still love my Canon A1. Have a AE1, several Canon point and shoot, both film and digital.
Also had Nikon F2 with motor drive, another winner.
Now use primarily Canon 80D,T5i. I have all told 11 lenses for the Canon's and Konica. As I am getting older I love the 80D with Sigma 18-300.
I also love my 20mm for the Konica.
Like women, it is almost impossible to decide which is the BEST.
Best regards'

Thanks so much for these. Ansel would be elated.

I have a Vivitar 500mm f/8 that had the old Canon FD MOUNT. I purchased from B&H an adapter for my Canon EOS T5i and my 80D. I am surprised how well it works. I use the Apature Function, set it at f/8, OR the MANUAL Function, and it works great. It can be Hand held, BUT it is better with a tripod and either a time release or a cable release.
I think that you are better off with you Nikon, because I think that the older mount will work with the newer DSLR cameras. Good luck, happy holidays, and good shooting.

As Gene once sang, "I'M BACK IN THE SADDLE AGAIN!". I have to get over there again. I forgot what a cool place it is.
Nice shot.
