There are, without a doubt, excellent camera stores who have featured mail order services.

But it occurred to me that we still need to endorse our -local- camera stores, especially if they have an excellent reputation.

To begin, I'd like to endorse Schiller's Camera store here in St. Louis, here for more than 100 years, and outstanding staff. I've purchased my Canon 5DII from them, and along with that 3 L series lenses. They are always my "go to" store, not only for the equipment, but also for opinions and advice. I know all of you would agree with me in saying that we NEED to support our local camera stores. So I'm beginning that here with: www.schillers.com

I need a backpack that will allow me to haul gear to distant destinations, but includes a smaller removable bag I can then use to carry around just one camera with an extra lens.

Here's what I take on trips: Nikon 810 with 28-70 lens. Olympus mirrorless with 25mm prime and a 35-100 zoom. An extra battery for each camera and chargers for the batteries. An iPad and/or a small HP laptop along with relevant chargers. Odds and ends such as a filter case and a memory card case. And, oh yes, a handful of meds I don't want to pack in checked bag.

Any suggestions that would not require getting major financing?

After I finished buying a guitar, a uke, bunch of macro gear, 2 Nikon film SLRs, a point&shoot, & a couple of Nikkor lenses, I pretty much drained 1st quarter's fun-money-bucket dry. But I still had to have a DSLR -- an el cheapo, obviously -- to learn digital with. So I bought a "condition excellent++" Nikon D330 body (a bit over 18,000 clicks) for $300, fob Hawaii, & that included its original box & ALL the stuff that came in it waaay back when it was new. (I wanted the D300s but couldn't find right seller/condition/price.)

PLEASE comment on the following:

1) Did I get screwed on the D330 for $300? (I probably won't be happy with the answers, but please be blunt... I need to learn how to do deals when it comes to used photo gear.)

2) Now that I am married to the d330 for the next 4-5 months, I need to buy a prime lens for it. If I want to eat for the rest of February, I have to find something decent for under $150. Any suggestions would be muchly muchly appreciated.

THE PROBLEM IS FIXED. In a simple "uncheck" a box, it works great. PS is all updated and working.

Even though apparently by some, I am using unsupported software. Just gotta love people who don't have a clue.

I also upgraded my laptop to Windows 10. That will give me a chance to work with it, if things go smoothly, I may indeed upgrade my desktop.

Oh and also, the Windows 10 upgrade was free from Microsoft.

Gosh the things one can learn here at UHH, as long as you have time to wade through the BS...LOL

Just got off the phone with Adobe, boy does their tech support suck, not to mention I could not understand the person on the other end.

So I tried to update PS to 2018, only to find, it won't happen. After talking with Adobe (on hold for 1 hour and 21 minutes) She informed me that the current version will not work with Windows 7 Pro/64bit.

I really do not want to upgrade to Windows 10. But looks like I might have to.

Is anyone out there using Win 7 and was able to make PS 2018 work? I have read some posts in different forums, but not really finding the answer.

I am using Adobe CC, for LR and PS. I am getting close to telling Adobe to stick it and move completely over to On1.
