My wife and I took our usual walk in a local preserve this morning. As usual I took my trusty Nikon 7100 and the 55-300 kits lens along with us and hoped to get a few shots. In fact I did and hope you enjoy the variety and leave a comment. Thanks
(Photos were taken across a pond and with significant undergrowth from the path in front of me to about 20' out thereby limiting specific shooting opportunities)
Following the wife's and my 2 mile walk in the local preserve we decided to walk the AMI beach. The wave action was something to behold as they were about 8' - 10' high. I managed to get off a few shots and thought I would show you a couple. Enjoy and please make a comment as it was a cloudy and overcast day. (Nikon 7100; 55-300 Nikon kit lens)
Got some good shots Joe. I like the first one that even picked up the spider web
I’m not familiar with you camera or system but if I had your problems I’d be checking all my settings in the menu first. If all is ok then I would try a factory default setting and see what happens. If not corrected I’d call the manufacturer
Love the clarity of each shot. Well done
I would recommend eliminating the Nude photography and bedroom section before the ChitChat section. Chit chat at times is informative, comical, and informative.
The nude section is offensive to me and does not exemplify the purpose, character and integrity of Ugly Hedgehog
I may be odd man out but the expression on the male does not appear to be a look of love and affection and being just married. To me the look it is one of “ I’ll get you for that” or one where he may be ready to slap her. In my honest opinion.
Thanks for the info Beth. You made well use of your time
Possibly a Japanese beetle but not sure
Thanks guys for the input. I value it immensely and will try implementing each suggestion
The lenses I primarily use on my Nikon 7100 are a Nikon 55-300 or a Sigma 150-600. I also have a 1.4 extender but rarely use it.
Some examples of recent shots are attached using the 55-300 fully extended and the settings as mentioned.
I did not have the 150-600 readily available
If this is a bad day for you, what does a good day look like. Excellent shooting in my mind.
I wouldn’t mind having your bad days when I go out.
As usual Beth… a great set. Please keep them coming
How long were in Alaska for your pics and was this on your own or part of a photography group
When you are shooting birds or BIF especially in manual what are your most frequently used settings (speed, aperture and iso) and focus point?
If you don’t shoot manual and set all 3 settings, what do you do. Why?
Reason for asking…. I’m looking for easier ways of shooting nature as I currently use 1/1000, F 5.6 - F8, and auto iso along with spot metering
Help me out with your technique if possible
Thanks a bunch
