I am a retired Amtrak employee. The windows are certainly not optical glass. On cross country trips I made, I tried opening the windows in vestibule doors to get some shots, however onboard folks made short work of that endeavor due to safety rules.
I found my efforts were not really satisfactory, similar to shooting out of tour bus windows. That being said, the most enjoyable part of my trips was visiting with the variety of other passengers.
I got mine at Costco as well. The tech did a good job, the price is gpod, and they work well.
We were privileged to take this cruise a few years ago and treasure the memories.
We took Viking from Amsterdam to Budapest a few years ago, and it was fantastic. I was shooting a 7D with 24-105 and 70-200. Got some great photos. I wish I had a voice recorder to get the narration on the castles that were so great. The difficulty with excursions is that the tour leaders have to keep the herd moving, and I was always bringing up the rear. And yes, trying to shoot out of bus windows is the worst!
I just looked Rod’s up on Google. It appears to still be in business at 301 Rt. 66 in Williams, unless The Google info is outdated.
Thank you. When I was a kid (60 some yrs ago) my family made several trips on 66 going to Indiana. We usually stopped in Williams at Rods fo a meal. They served food on plates with the head of a beef cow on all of them. I always looked forward to that stop. With those many years having passed it’s no wonder it is no longer there.
Is Rod’s Steakhouse still in business?
The truly sad thing is that so many camera phone users have no desire to get as good an image as possible. My iPhone has the ability to improve images yet so few can be bothered to use the tools available to them on their camera phones.
Thank you everyone for your input.
Anyone have some experience with this camera, and if so what ate your thoughts?
Thank you for your input.
I think #1 is great. The composition really adds to the context. Great shot.
the Shot with the 24-105 is I think the better of the two. more contrast.
In light of another posting in today’s forum, did you have to get special permission to photograph this rodeo, and if so how did that work?
I have a Benro monopod with a swivel foot that works quite well.
